Suddenly Ukrainian leadership started to publicly interrogate Russian POWs captured Russian terrorists  instead of trading them silently for our own prisoners.

If you want to see how Russian special forces soldiers look like:

I'm not sure what you are trying to say with how they look, cause they look like normal people.  Or do Ukrainians actually look so much different from Russians?

No, they don't. On the average.

What? What's the rationale behind it?

They're not banning cash. They're allowing shops to refuse to accept cash.

Huge difference.

The rationale behind that is twofold: On the one hand, they simply want to make an end to the illegal cash circuit.
On the other hand, by banning cash, and by only allowing transactions through one single state-owned bank, they hope to be able to avoid the creation and subsequent blowing up of financial soap bubbles, and prevent future economic crises from affecting their country too much.

@ebbor: I think my newspaper might have translated it wrongly then. Or this is newer news. The shops being allowed to refuse cash is news from 8 may. This one was a new article from today's newspaper.
http://www.volkskrant.nl/dossier-peter-de-waard/moet-het-gebruik-van-cash-illegaal-worden~a4034668/

full news article is behind a paywall unfortunatly. First line after the headline literally says it though: "The Danish government has prepared a proposition for a new law, that will make paying cash in stores illegal starting 1 january 2016"

I hope they give cards to people for free, then. And let people have free bank accounts as well.

Illegal cash circuit? The only illegal cash circuit that I know of is counterfeit cash, and money laundering.

Also, maybe having a single bank in Denmark is the actual problem?

No paper money is my dream... And I want any citizen being able to see all transactions of any other citizen by using some kind of a database. (yeah, I know it will never happen, but...)

Socialism proper would have no money whatsoever, but I know what you're getting at. This is pretty much word for word what Soviet Bloc countries would do, single state-owned bank and all.

sweet bughumping zeus goddamn no to that second one. I neither want to know nor want other people to know if I or they are buying fleshlights, bloody thankyou. Or any number of other things. My boss doesn't need to know and I don't want my boss to know if I regularly peruse smutty romance novels or <insert next step on chain of command in organization> helpbooks, because I goddamn guarantee you stuff like that would constantly cost people jobs for incredibly stupid shit that has absolutely zero to do with their on-the-job capability.

That's also more or less a nightmare for any oppressed minority that would have consumption tells. Transsexual? Crossdresser in general? Something like public facing consumption records is basically a great big nagot gick fucked to them.

That said, if just the raw currency unit transfer, aggregated at the end of the month, was available to the public... maybe. It would still cause all sorts of social bullshit that could be easily avoided by just not freaking doing that (conspicuous consumption would suddenly become a lot more conspicuous, ferex, and gods know nobody sane actually wants that), but it would allow for identifying anomalous fiscal activity to be crowdsourced instead of left in the hands of some non-publically viewable organization. Still sounds like a recipe for complete disaster, and viciously mangling your nose for the purpose of washing your chin (not even managing the whole face!) or some shit, but at least the most immediately egregious problems would be mitigated, somewhat.

Geh. Nightmare scenario, waugh. Google and the gov't having that information is bad enough.
