I am in my band, the B band. There are tryouts forA band. This is for next year. I am wondering if i should let others go before me and stay in B band because there are music scholarships that they can get and if i go i will not get them.

Which one do you want to be in? Remember that if you're playing with a better band, you'll probably learn to play better alongside them. It's up to you, but I wouldn't automatically count yourself out for scholarships just yet. If you make the band, it should prove you're good enough to be there.
