Posting to watch. I'm not entirely sure whether I'll submit a deathtrap airship, but I'll definitely come up with a crewmember to man these fine vessels!

I'm actually really excited for this, mostly because I heard Jim Butcher's reading of his new steam punk series the 'Cinder Spires'   Will definitely try my hand at constructing a ship once we get the monetary limitations would hate to build a 5 layered dreadnought only to learn I was 3 times over the cost limit.

Cost limit? Don't you know they'll be making teams after the ships are built, based off ship price? And giving some players multiple copies of their ship if it helps balance out their team?
The question is, will you be going cheap mass production of small ships, or a single massive ship?

Edit: come to think of it, I WAS building a massive one, but I think I'll stop and make a fleet of small ships instead.

Edit2: If you're putting a hatch in place, do you need a ladder underneath?

Actually, what flabort said about the costs is pretty good. I probably won't actually go and count up the price of every ship (but it would be totally awesome if you gave it to me.), but rather take a good long look at the actually schematics, and assign it what would basically amount to a point cost, and then give each team a point limit that they could buy ships/possibly other garbage with.

So if you want to make a massive 5 story dreadnought, go for it, but it very well may be the only ship you get in the round, and if it's so freaking powerful it exceeds the point limit, I'll let you go ahead and take it anyway and just raise the limit.

Edit2: If you're putting a hatch in place, do you need a ladder underneath?
You should unless you enjoy making endurance rolls to avoid injury.

I'll probably just make a post for the crew thread, as PMing everybody would be a rather huge hassle, particularly if more people sign up.

I'll make a small carrier.  A ship without propulsion, that just has a fighter.

And a turret ship, that's just a gun, armor, and a lodestone for turning.

Also, would you like me to make man-to-man combat rules, and a list of guns?  Cause I can totally do that.  I might even do that if you say no.

There are already man-to-man combat rules and guns, I just haven't linked to them yet.
EDIT: Also you can place multiple fighters on a ship, using only one airstrip, I'm assuming they have wheels that would let them move over to it since they, you know, need them to take off and stuff.
EDIT: Added links to the crewman's manual to the OP, as well as the character sheet.

Is there a character sheet that doesn't require me to master photoshop? :P

Yes, but the combat's broken, and the guns non-existent.  Even if they did exist, they don't affect combat meaningfully, hence it's broken.

And the "one fighter per ship" isn't because I was confused about airstrips or something, it was so you can buy the exact number of fighters you want.

Buy ALL the fighters!

Ok Mastahcheese? Where the HELL are you getting this "just drag and drop the modules" idea? Where am I supposed to go to construct this, because paint sure as hell doesn't work, seeing as it just lets you copy one thing and that copied object completely overwrites everything you've done.

So WHERE I PUT DIS TOGETHER?

Spoiler: Blueprints (click to show/hide)

Edit: @BFEL: I downloaded the modules section zip into a folder, cut down on the amount of ship that the copy/paste blocks. Also, put modules before painting in floor. And in certain cases, before drawing walls too.

You realize that with the direction the engines are facing relative to the cockpit, you're looking backwards, right?

Propeller on front of plane. Propeller on "north" of wing. Cockpit on "North" of wing. Propeller therefore on front of wing. Therefor, looking forward.
