___
Torus World:
Sphere System: Nilva, Gai-gen
___

"This is simply for the purpose of deciding if we want a torus world or a sphere system. Personally, I find value in a sphere system, rather than the more complex torus. Also. I do not understand why growth in the world or worlds is wanted. Elaborate. Hm. Complexity increases."
Why is the torus considered more complex?

"More work is required to allow life on a torus system. And... hm. Complexity is hard to define. Like happiness. But it is present in the torus, and not as much in a simple sphere."

I disagree. Comparatively the torus is less complex, and whether it'd truly be more complex to create life is debatable. By what metric is a ring more complex than a ball? Especially since the ball is spinning on its own axis while also circling a sun, while the ring is simply turning around the sun, if even that.

"So you do not want a day-night cycle? Such a thing is easier to implement for a sphere."

Stagnation. Urgh. I have a feeling I will be taking a more solitary route when we are done with this. Maybe my other aspect will be more suited to speed this process...
A full set of dark-red armor materialize on Lithus.
...Indeed. You may all call me Luthus for now. I would be very grateful if you could all cast your votes faster. I have many things to do and I hate wasting time.

And also, Gai-gen, you forgot to count my vote in favor of the torus world.

"So you do not want a day-night cycle? Such a thing is easier to implement for a sphere."
It is not so much that I do not want a day/night cycle, as that I am largely ambivalent on the matter. I fail to see why such a large value is placed on it by most of you. So ultimately Gai-gen, you also focus mainly on the ease of implementing a day-night cycle?

This is forming a disappointing trend.

"Correct. A day-night cycle would cost more essence for a torus world than a sphere."

...And would serve absolutely no purpose, except perhaps a cosmetic appeal. I see no point in valuing it so much.

Might I ask why exactly you desire a day/night cycle?

"Hm. Would it be true to state that my brethren are more concerned for themselves than for our forthcoming children? I am merely curious. And you forgot my vote for the sphere system."
Why form a distinction? Our creations are us, and we are our creations. After all, we take from our own essence to create them.

Disorientation may also be present in our creations without one.
Disagreement. A creature that has never known such a cycle would not be disorientated by its absence. Day and night are merely variations in ambient illumination, not some foundational building block of life.

Seasons obviously.

A moon orbiting the sun closer than the torus could serve the purpose of timekeeping easily, and I assume the spherical world also includes such a satellite, so the arguments of additional costs or needless complexity don't apply in this case.
