To be honest, I've mostly been dodging attacks in Dark Souls 3; the Grass Crest Shield is just for things that surprise me or that I can't dodge. And for the stamina regen.

like, i can get away from attacks before they hit me, but frame-perfect invincibility bs is beyond me
i just prefer blocking because it's guaranteed if i have enough stamina

also i prefer blocking in dark souls 1 and dodging in 2 but that's because i use entirely different weapons in both games
