Mission 2: The Fireman

The survivors of mission 1 are patched up back to full health. They are also fed ice cream, after a warm meal of mashed potatoes in brown sauce with a side of baked beans in tomato sauce.

Meanwhile, the director receives another mission: A fire and rescue team has gone missing after investigating a case of isolated death in a crowded apartment block. It is believed that said team did gain entry into one of the apartments to retrieve a sick or dead person, but never came out...

The CIA suspects zombies. They can't blow the place up however, as the apartment building is in the middle of a crowded neighbourhood. So instead, they are sending the D team, you, with flamethrowers to cleanse the place.

Your Primary Objective is to sterilize the area. Secure and contain the threat of a pathological outbreak.

Your Secondary Objectives are to gather samples and rescue any civilians that might still be in the building.

If possible, determine the cause of the outbreak.

The authorities are still nervous about arming class D personnel, however an acceptable compromise has been reached: You now have access to single-shot break action super-comanche pistols! They take both .45 long colt pistol rounds and .41  shotshells without needing any barrel change or modification!

Every prisoner will be issued one free of charge, but ammo is sold separately at $1 a round, marked up because you lack choices. The Super-comanche also phases out the pneumatic nailgun.

You guys also receive an extra 50 bucks in pocket money. There's no bonus pay this time because you didn't manage to bring back loot from your last mission.

Other mission equipment would include a couple of flamethrowers with 20 litre tanks. This gives them all of 4 shots.

You also get hazmat suits, for all the good it'll do. They're nothing fancy, just modified early 20th century boilersuits sealed with rubber with a self-contained air-supply. We're not expecting the contagion to be airborne, but the CIA wants you to dress up to show the public how seriously they are treating the issue.


so a total of 20 xp? or is that 20 on top of the base 10?

She also requests access to any SCP plantlife that produces hallucinatory effects or other altered states of mind, in the hope of distilling some "to calm any anxious subjects we encounter. After all, it woldn't do to have a repeat of our last blunder, losing that poor woman and driving that little girl insane."

The shotshells will be in 000 shot. Which gives each shell 4 pellets making rather nice holes with decent stopping power at close range.

EDIT: Bought a full toolbox, a set of playing cards and a magic wand for 17$ and a Pneumatic Nailgun + nails for 25$. Added everything to sheet.

Yeah the tazers get a free reload in base after the mission.

You can get a tools pretty cheaply. Maybe a whole set for 5 dollars. Made in China.

Buy a bunch of things, anew nailgun to replace the broken one, 20 nails, bullets for the gun, a molotov and try to get a map of the building we will be entering

The apartment features a single central stairwell. There are 4 units on each floor, 2 on each side. At the basement there is a backup generator, a utilities room and a laundry room. There are 6 floors of apartments, with the stairwell as the only means of reaching them.

Jeb gets one of the flamethrowers, a pistol and a hazmat suit, also buys 15 rounds of each type for the pistol, and buys a bat, becuse why not

Glad to have you back, Aigre.

Here's my updated Character sheet. I used 15 exp to upgrade my intuition another level. I also added the free Comanche Pistol to my inventory and spent $30 on ammo. I also spent $15 on a meal ration.

Take a few pills of my medication and then go take a quick nap before the mission starts. Gotta rest my aching hips before all the excitement starts.

The CIA thinks its zombies! But we've no clue what we're dealing with. Maybe bring back an infected tissue sample, or a live specimen. We do know that the area has been quarantined and the official story is a possible contagion.

The fire and rescue team went in and never came out! Their story was that an old woman who lived on the second floor never came out for days. And the floor started to smell. So the neighbors called the emergency department to check if she died.

Yes all injuries are fixed up.
