The lift takes you down, down, further and further. It's dark, no lights. The only light allowing your eyes to see is the bright red of your las-gun displays. An hour passes, before the lift shudders to a stop.

[SAFE]. The light above the doorway flickers on. There's a heavier weight to you here, and you stumble the first step you take. Deep, deep beneath you is the roar of a massive fusion reactor, the largest you've ever felt on this planet. They are but matches to the blazing sun that burns within the core of this vessel.

The door opens with a hiss of pressure, and the air that equalizes into the lift is stale, and lacks the usual moisture that's present on the surface. The lights in the room flicker on, revealing a long metallic corridor that itches at an old fear.

"[Please proceed down the hall.]" A door opens in the distance.

We're... inside SEED. A twenty-mile underground hulk, with enough power to enact Armageddon upon anything within radius.

This had better be worth it.

Proceed.

I bet that reactor could power one hell of a nuke...

Would blow this world to rubble, I expect-- or at least, enough of the world to burn away anything that now lives upon its surface.

You pass by many, many doors. A small robot skitters by, attending to some archaic repair task on the structure. They resemble silverfish, and move out of you way when you approach. The door that opens for you is filled with oblong, coffin shaped instruments, with a numble of mechanisms within that make you shudder.

It's an interface, designed to mesh man and machine--For realistic virtual reality and direct interface. It's primitive. Probably painful.

Great.  Best idea ever.  Alternatively, we could try to figure out a way to sabotage this thing from the inside.

Do so.

How... how much of our mind is SEED going to know?

...I don't know. The ones from our childhood had locks to prevent that sort of thing.

"...So be it."

If this goes OK-ish, we may have to seriously consider not killing SEED.

"Trust me as I have trusted you?"  This thing is planning to kill us because it feels threatened.

You strip, removing everything, shutting off Lucille and leaving her in a pile on the floor with the rest of your clothing. The last thing to come off is the tight wind of cloth around your chest. Then, you step into the machine.

An oxygen mask presses itself against your face. A set of goggles affix themselves to your eyes. The machine shuts, leaving you in perfect darkness. Then it begins to fill with liquid as a sharp needle clamps itself to your lower spine. Followed by another in your neck.

And you twitch. Then, drift into something not too dissimilar to sleep. Light blooms, revealing a desk in an empty void of white. On the desk is a monitor. A two dimensional image appears on it--massive voidships,  an entire Armada, laying in wait before a great white field that stretches into the infinity of space.

SEED appears, taking on the form commonly associated with it. "I wish to show you the difference between you and McCreary. Why I killed him, and why you should leave me alive." The image flickers, revealing three massive machines armed with fusion blasters, standing above piles of clothing, weapons pointed at your 'coffin'. It's from a camera placed somewhere over head of the bay.

A set of giggles affix themselves to your eyes.

I wish I could say I giggled-- alas, I merely chortled a bit.  :P

Anyhoo, looks like it's time to clear the air with SEED. For better or for worse.

"...Do so."

Also, giggles being affixed to the face made me giggle
Now I wonder what giggles would look like, after all, Will is physical in this world. Maybe giggles can have a form too, if enough laughs are had at the same time in the same place? This is thoughts not related to the suggestion
