I, too, recommend alcohol. It's the answer to all the problems it's not the cause of.

are you one hundred percent sure you are using enough alcohol

it's biological tinfoil, you can even cure alcoholism with alcohol. admittedly i have not even the foggiest as to how but it's essential in detoxing when you're at far deep, a local addict support group claimed recently

In our IT books, there is a small (3 paragraphs of 4 lines average) section on hackers.

What cheered me up about that was that it was this (paraphrased):
"A hacker is a person that is a good programmer and can solve computer issues efficiently. Good hackers try to break into networks and then point out the security holes to the administrators. Bad hackers, however, use this skill to steal information and such".

Aka, it's not just "urr hurr hackers ermagerd watch out"

"Hey there, we found a security hole. You might wanna check that out." -Anonymous note left in file server. Good hacker.

"PS. We also stole some of your clients' personal information." Neutral hacker?

first think of the consequences should you be caught, and your own conscience, then get some measuring tape and chains to your basement- oh.
I don't need advice along those lines. I know how to do that. ...Never done it, but I'm sure I know how. I've got certification as a Data Entry specialist in the state of Florida, and while that is entirely useless(especially since I live in New York), the typing skill and dexterity needed for the 245 keypresses per minute required for that certification, I assure you, is not.

I'm pretty sure there are professional hackers you can hire to try to break into your computer security. They're called IT security consultant. Honestly, IT Security might as well be teaching people to be hackers to stop hackers.

Watched D9 again (was prompted by recently seeing Elysium).

I still can't quite pinpoint why the movie is so brilliant, but it is, I just love everything about it. Elysium was more of the same awesomeness, but it wasn't quite up to par, then again, since it came out, I'm struggling to find another SF movie which matched D9 (well maybe Cloud Atlas, but I wouldn't call that SF for some reason, doesn't feel like it).

My roommate says we're going to watch it when I move in >w<  Honestly, the first half hour or so of Elysium was amazing.  It was just the later parts felt like they came from a different movie, one which was way more interested in unjustified violence than I was.

I'm not sure how much you'll like District 9, but it really is a great movie. And it's set in South Africa! And FILMED in South Africa!

I didn't like it. Not because it was bad, and I really loved the filming, set and camera work, but I didn't like the main character. He bothered me for some reason.

Well the main character is an asshole. I think that was by design, though. You weren't supposed to like him. An annoying, whiny, racist bureaucrat.
