God Damn it, I hate today. First my sandwich has egg in it, and now the page crashes after I've added all the spiders to it. They're all there, anyway. I'll add the wiki links later. Took me about an hour to track everything down the first time...

Well you shouldn't be eating Egg Salad Sandwiches if you don't want any egg.

I guess now is as good a time as any to start the formatting of my list of extinct (but time appropriate) animals.

THEN off to insects! Like those Giant Bees/Wasps.

It was Cheese and Ham. That shop ALWAYS does this. At best, the egg will be labelled in tiny writing somewhere on the packaging, at worst, they just lob it in as a lovely little surprise. Who the hell thinks egg goes with cheese? Or anything at all for that matter.

How dangerous do we want the locusts to be? Even a small swarm is quite capable of devouring the food stocks of an entire fortress-sized settlement. The Malarial Mosquito is another potential gamebreaker, if we give it a venom to ape the effects of malaria.

I think only Toady can really answer that question Lancensis

Though it wouldn't kill anyone to at least add them.

Though to admit even though the Rocky Mountain Locust did form the largest swarms EVER, it also sort of did so because all the conditions were there for it to. So if they were somehow magically transported Europe they would actually be less dangerous then ordinary Locusts.

They pretty much reached that point by having a monopoly (they are the only major Locust in North America apperantly) and by having an immense stable habitat (They were wiped out by agriculture).

This is true to an extent, but please don't rely on us to do it for you.

Wild Cat http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wild_cat

Should this really be implemented as a separate species from DF's existing cat?  I'd just as soon assign a couple biomes to the cat and call it done.
Well they're as distinct from domestic cats as wolves are from dogs, certainly in terms of behaviour. Furthermore, I've heard of wild animals with [VERMINHUNTER] stalking your dwarves.

Actually I looked up all the extinct creatures I had in my list to make sure they weren't already added.

The creature who was, was something I added last second and my comment afterwords was a bad joke. Though Footkerchief is starting to become somewhat grouchy

Possibly, although it's also hard to tell when you're joking sometimes.

It comes from the fact that I can say the most outlandish things with a straight face.

I still remember when people thought I honestly believed Sailormoon earned more then food and automobiles combined.

Well I think from the beetles neonivek they could be used for there crushed shells as medicine by the tribal people. I have another beetle I want to add I dont know its name but there from the south of chile and they have big horns(longer then the one in the picture) iridescent blue and are massive my mom ( Who is from chile) says in roselot (Big lake reserve in chile look it up) my mom would find these swarming in big packs but now you barely find any. They're really cool and we went into the forest around the lake and river and found some fighting and another who was dead so we kept the body and they look really cool.:'(

Here is a pic I found that looks like them but the have bigger horns and are more iridescent and blue, Oh and my mom also says there called Cantaria's.

This species of stag beetle.  "Cantaria" was a useful clue.
