I'm gonna make a ruling that the captain may not leave the bridge after firing lasers/using captain cards.
 Sorry.

I really don't think it's good practice to change rules on a whim like that. Before a turn starts, ok, but as a reaction to something somebody wants to do? Not cool, man.

So we got monsters above, monsters below, dwarves in the middle and a party in the dining hall. Sounds good to me.
If all else fails, remember one thing:  kittens are delicious, nutritious little goblin-baiters, cavern explorers, and ambush-finders.

Yes, but even in an experimental game, changing rules as a direct response to an intended action is bad. This isn't such a case, but if somebody planned to do something for, like, three turns and then was told that he now, in fact, can't - even though the rules didn't say anything like that when he came up with his plan - it could potentially change the whole tide of a battle.

Just think of it as if you are in a chunk of incrediwarped space. Things could change at any minute, and you must ride out the storm!

Yeah, sorry for being chaotic with what you can or cannot do. But the more stuff like this happens, the more refined the next game will be.
 As for my decision this time, I kinda saw that tactic as a way to postpone the game. So I acted on it.
Use both Redshirts, move to teleport chamber, board Palad'in.
You bring your redshirt count up to 7, and arrive in the right pod.
Plasma grenade. Seal god. Boom.
You step over to the neighboring section and... Boom indeed.
 This gets you hurt directly though, no redshirts to absorb it for you.

If I can still move after teleporting, I do so towards the center of the ship.

Now it's the Palad'in's turn, assuming there's anyone left to take it.
