If it's a building don't explore it. It's bound to have a ton of zombies.

Uhm, three. I killed one of them with a rat, but it wasn't enough. Still waiting for some sort of rescue. The square north of me has never been entered, whihc is why I'm curious, but I'd like some help with it in case there's zombies.

There're 2 left? You should be able to escape.

Also you see zombie amount BEFORE you go somewhere if you have a watchtower.

There's three, Deon, and there's no watchtower because some asshole stole the planks so he could build his hut.

Also, I meant the square to the west of me is unexplored.

I will bail you out. But it's not smart to explore terrain if you don't know what's there. Better just go scavenging someplace save.

Are there any benefits to going on expedition party scouts instead of by yourself other than not having to worry about getting trapped by too many zombies?  It seems logical that we would find more/better stuff the farther away from the town we go.

I just didn't want to have to scavenge in all the depleted zones. Is there a safe, nondepleted zone around?

EDIT: Ooay, this is shit, I just walked into 5 zombies in a zone I thought was marked safe. I should have saved that rat for this place.

Damnit, i'm more trouble than I'm worth =/
