Hate to break up the offtopic banter, but I have a question...

Every time I turn in a lost wallet or suitcase, the guard gets "suspicious" and I end up losing 5 Karma. It keeps bumping me back down to Criminal status and I don't know what to do. I can barely crawl my way back past -30 before it happens again and I've wasted so much fucking time doing this today that it's really starting to kill the fun. If I knew of any easier way to get Karma, I'd just keep these damn items for myself, but I keep hoping that this time it'll be different... :(

@Moogie, If you hand in too many in quick succession guards do get suspicious, best to wait a few days/weeks before handing it in.
I shall do a bit of diving to try and find the exact value

Try not opening the wallet first.
You can't loot the wallet and still be a good person.

I'm not opening the wallets. I guess handing in more than 2 per fortnight is too much then, considering I never really found many before the guards found me suspicious 4 times in a row... :( Even tried taking them to different towns, it still happened! *Shakes fist*

Good news is, I stayed above -30 long enough to start doing some quests, so I'm at -15 right now. The hard part is raising karma, while simultaneously trying to keep Fame low.

If you want to keep fame low then fail at hunting missions or harvest missions. Harvest ones are especially good as they let you work out your growing skill and strength
