I think I suck at blackjack. I only play with the lucky day event, but even then I only get a PoCC every 10 games or so. And after that I fail at gathering materials, so at my next lucky day I have 2-4 casino chips :-[

It's not just you, it's pretty hard for me too.

Tips for the uber newbs from a slightly-experienced-newb:

When the opponent has only two cards, the absolute max they can have is revealed card+11. This means, say, they have a 7. The absolute max they can have is 18. You should try to lead or equal the number. But revealed card+10 is more likely a stopping point, as As are not extremely frequent (at least, I think). Still, prepare for the worst.

The place to stop is 16. Around here, your chances of getting a good card just drop significantly even with high luck. At about 18, STOP. Because your chances of getting a good card, even with great luck, are horrible.

Don't abuse your luck. Just because you have luck, doesn't mean it'll save you all the time, so only use luck-intensive card selecting when you know your opponent has a higher card.

Cheating is a bad idea in my opinion. When you usually need it, it'll usually fail. You'll just loose karma and your potential (sucky) reward.

If you have a 10 or lower, always pull out a new card; you'll never go over because the absolute max each card is 11 on an A.

Count the opponent's cards. If they equal 21 or something above and there's more cards, they've definitely gone over. If their last number is big, like 10, after pulling a lot of other cards, they may have gone over.

When I get a ranch later, should I breed thieves or public performers?
Human is clearly the best meat.

Pah, one time?

I've done it... uhhh... at least sixteen times? With one (female while I'm male) magic vendor in Vernis. Needless to say, her relation is about 70+. ;)

My wizard is filled with hatred, and so, he gets +7 to damage.

Not that bad. plus with a living bronze longsword, which deals 2D10+2 damage...

2D10+9*0.8.

I can now damage crabs with out using my grenade.

Alright. A question.

I just picked up a pair of cursed boots that has It attracts monsters (####) on it. Should I just get rid of it via vendor/dumped in the wilderness, or should I attempt to trade it to a guard somewhere, preferably in the kings room of Palmia?

Edit: I got another decentish item. Disturbs growth by #, but is doomed and drops perception by 8. Sucks eh?

With high level It attracts monsters, just remember to off the guard before things get too out of control to handle. Usually things can be kept to a reasonable level, but I once had to nuke Palmia due to the sheer amount of dragons that had overrun it.

I have all the female vendors in Yown as Fellows. I complete a harvest time quest, have some tail, and report the quest complete to instantly recoup the karma! Great way to get extra money once you have good gardening skill and equipment to maintain all your stats. This tactic should work for performers doing the party time quest in Palmia as well.

Living blades are interesting, killing enough seems to give them another bonus, so my lv 2 sword now protects me from confusion, and soon I intend for it to deal more damage.

Eventually living weapons need more essence then you provide, and starts sucking your blood.

Oh yeah. When it hits the point where the next level up will make it suck blood, just give it to an ally. It won't level with them.
