Um... quick question... does the Little Sisters' Mansion respawn?

Because something very bad is happening right now...

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Bad?  I thought you were just celebrating New Years Eve.

Backspace + Enter worked. Thanks. :)

I woulda let it all burn to the ground, but I was running out of places to stand and watch without getting singed. I don't know how it started, but I suspect a sister-clone drank a motolov and exploded herself.

Anyone know what the formula is for the minimum level required (with monster heart) to dominate a level X monster?

If you have the heart, your current level + 10 must be equal to the monster level or more to dominate it.

Thanks; looks like I have a bit more grinding to do than I first thought I did. But it will be so worth it.

You mean what is it coded in? Hot Soup Processor (HSP).

Edit: Is there any way to see pets' Ether Disease symptoms? I tried paying the 10k to look at his sheet, but it only let me view his skills list. Poor guy has extremely advanced disease and is picking up new symptoms every few days... he must have at least 30 by now. There's no way I'm wasting my cure pots on him, though. :P

Uh, I was under the impression that only the PC could get ether disease. That's why I feed my pets shining hedgehog corpses and let them carry around ether equipment. Nothing bad's ever happened in 5 years of gameplay (well, nothing bad to THEM, at least...). I'm also pretty sure that the time period between one symptom and another appearing should be far longer than a few days unless you habitually walk around during etherwind or load yourself up with all the ether equipment you can find (even then, I don't know if that's enough to speed up the rate that much). Maybe something else is happening?

edit: Oh, I read in the last few pages that you're playing a fanmade version. Does that one introduce ether disease for pets? I'm still stuck in 1.16rfix2b.

I try not to walk around in the Ether much. Bare in mind though, I'm using ELM 35b, which I'm pretty sure changes the behaviour of the wind. Beyond making it much more dangerous to be out during the wind -- you'll get symptoms every few steps -- NPCs frequently get a status called "aphrodisiac", and whilst I'm not sure what that does, I do know that my heavily-diseased Gold Bell aquires this status (and loses it again) every few steps.

Town NPCs seem to be able to get, and cure, disease symptoms too. I saw the message "Blahblah the Blacksmith's Ether Disease symptoms are greatly cured!" earlier today.

Note: NPC'S AND PETS DO NOT GET THE ETHER DISEASE IN THE CURRENT VERSIONS!! (Including 1.22, dev version)

That NPC drank...a very special potion that you could've nicked off...

ELM is later than 1.22, just not 'official'.

Well, I didn't know he had that potion, but I don't have pickpocketing anyway so it's a moot point. x)

There's a version that makes the ether wind even more character crippling and additionally makes it extending even to your minions ?

Already in 1.16 (xmas version) i find that ether crap very annoying, i can't even imagine me playing one that makes the ether even worse.

Agreed. Every few steps is utterly insane in my opinion. Get stuck at the edge of town in the Etherwind? HAVE 100 MILLION DISEASES LOLZ.

Tarran has the "Tarran Bug", a bug which causes the affected character to repeatedly hit teammates while dual-wielding instead of whatever the hell he is shooting at.

just chug a blessed potion every few diseases, should be enough. The same version gives me about 10 times the number of casino chips and 500 (Yen) coins. And don't forget the potions you get for marrying your pets. also: the ether winds are always in the same weeks for me ...

If it did NOT change. Etherwind occurs every FIRST TEN DAYS of every THIRD MONTH (so that's for the first 10 days in the 3rd,6th,9th and 12th month).

Do town quests or go to a dungeon for shelter. Or go home.
