Danielle signals for Claire to move to the front of the 4 kid line. Unsurprisingly, this does nothing apart from giving her a slight speed advantage during any random encounters.

The unmistakable sound of Alex messing around with his sylladex comes from the back of the line.

"MINE." The beam of light flicks around the room. It moves rather quickly, not staying on anything long enough to get a good look, but it is simple to recognize eight pillars close to the center of the room, though they look somewhat irregular, and some form of drawings along the wall, but Alex keeps moving the flashlight around.

Eventually, he stops the light on something in the ceiling. "WHAT'S THAT?" The object the light is fixed on appears to be some sort of ornate basket, possibly for holding a fire to light the room.

To be fair, it's rather obscure. I actually didn't know until I read a strategy guide for FFIV.
