Even if everyone dies, we're playing this game through to the end. We can just resurrect people or recover from doomed timelines indefinitely. Of course, in the event of TPKs....

I think we all agree we don't want any author insert intermissions, right? So, no synchronized death sprees, capice? Let's return to the game.

Well, you're up the stairs, not down them. It'd be hard for something to slide down to you if they'd gone down and whatnot.

Anyway, you see a long hallway before you, and it looks benign enough, but your ninja senses are tingling. Something is amiss. Or afoot. It's asomething anyhow.

NOTE: No, seriously, don't everybody die just to see it go down, not even in the name of morbid curiosity. It'd just be a sequence of poorly edited Homestuck panels. And it would take a while to do them all. Because I'd actually edit out all the previously done backgrounds, you see. And, I'd give myself my hair too. This isn't something we want done.

You dutifully place your hands through the bars, at which point heavy manacles are clapped upon your wrist. It seems that, even though you're unarmed, they aren't taking chances.

You have a few moments before your escort arrives. Anything you want to do before they show up?

It's not that impressive, just long is all.

You start leading the group down the hallway, cautiously watching for... Well, anything. You spot a tile that looks out of place, step back, and cautiously prod it with one toe before drawing back your leg.

Ten large, serrated steel discs shoot out of the wall, floors and ceiling in front of the group, buzzing along set paths before retreating into the stonework again.

"...THAT TRAP WAS A BIT MORE LETHAL THAN THE STAIRS."

"Good god, who built this thing, fecking dwarves? Seriously, there's gotta be something good if we have to bypass so many BS traps."

You set about leading your companions through the hallway, carefully sidestepping and revealing traps as you find them, and keeping your teammates from getting diced. It's a time consuming endeavor.

Several turns later, you spot another staircase. It heads up.

>Emily and Mimi: Land already.

You both touch down, now at the ground level. The air is filled with the distant thrum of machinery.

>Mikheal: Check how well you can move your hands about in these handcuffs. If you have at least 90 rotation for each then you may be able to escape.
No check for any skill because this is fairly obvious.

>Mikheal: Also make sure to keep an eye out for any place that they could've put your stuff like being escorted.

He clamped the manacles straight over your wrists. You can't shift them at all, and it's uncomfortable to boot. Still, if you spot something you can use to pick the lock, you could grab it in your teeth and pick the lock... Yeah, right. Intelligent guards sure are frustrating.

You come out of your introspection as the sound of many, many boots hitting the stairs meets your ears, and a squad of five pike bearing red birds show up in front of the cell. One of them speaks. "We're here to take the prisoner to see the King." He shows the jailer a piece of paper, which the guard looks over. He nods, and comes to your cell, unlocking it, and swinging the door open.

"MAYBE WHATEVER IS HERE IS SOMETHING THAT WHOEVER PUT HERE REALLY DOESN'T WANT TAKEN AWAY?" While Alex muses on the nature of the prize hidden in the pyramid, you look around for mechanisms in the stairs. To the surprise of absolutely no one, you find some, and quickly jam them.

Also, Emily's hand is Spikey Pleather Boots, Explosive Ball with Straps, and a LPOS.

As the group reaches the next floor, Steve starts checking for traps again, and, again, finds quite a few. What is somewhat more interesting is that at the far end of the corridor, there is light.
