Saki motioned for the group to retreat much once more. Engaging in a fight armed with only a knife and a bat didn't make much sense.

Action: Quietly head back and take the center path

"I uh... don't think so no.  Maybe it's a password to let us by the gate?  Shall we give it a try?  If not than I can always try to persuade them."

"Probably best to not risk yet. If they identity us as unauthorized, they won't let us in even if we acquire authorization."

"Well I don't know about you but I am bloody exhausted."
Khan rubs his eyes wearily, stifling a yawn.
"Suppose we could try and find a skid-row inn, I've talked my way into them thinking I already paid before  and could probably do it again...."

"That works, will give Kiv time to figure out what the number means."

The trio attempts to sneak away without drawing attention to themselves.

Trio (Stealth) vs (listen), 1 vs 1, tie! tied failure!

"Errkkk!" A loud screech echos in the sewers, whatever is around the corner has heard the group's footsteps and is now heading that direction! Deciding that it is best to flee the trio rushes back, taking the central path. However rather than finding an exit to the surface, the trio finds a trapdoor at the end of the central path.

"No... I'm pretty sure the latter we saw back there is our way out...but that creature is coming from that direction."

"I don't see how we would even do that..." John says pessimistically.

"Well, we don't even what it is. It seems we're going to have to face it, though...let's ambush it when it comes around the corner. Hit it hard and fast. Or,  maybe we'll get lucky and it will go the other way, hopefully to fight the vomit monster."

Action: Prepare ambush-around-the-corner strategy!
