Yesterday (tried, found what I found, left it half an hour, came back and it went Ok), and today (about an hour ago, did the same thing, works now... obviously!) I got a 504 error ("504 Gateway Timeout"), after quite a while without the 500s (indetermined gateway error) and the apparent solving of the orginal reason for this very thread.

Wondering if this is the original problem reappearing under a different circumstance (having negated the first 'spurious' error, become subject to a second level of catch) or due to the solution applied to stop the first (when the new gateway-to-the-gateway hits the old gateway error it's now treating it as defined error in its own right).


Assuming I'm not the only one to see this. I didn't think much of it last night, and I haven't really properly analysed the circumstances today, even. But putting it out there in case anyone else is as effected as I have been (or has been, or is more so...?)

Editing to renote that it was 500, previously, not the 502... The Bad Gateway one is the error I infrequently get on a different site, different issues. I just see that one enough to get mixed up. :p

Yeah, I had the 504 error pop up a couple times today. Probably around the same time you had it?

Yep. here too.

Not sure how many minutes. Lasted/recurred across more than the two minutes I wited before the first refresh. Came back on my next poll maybe 5-10 minutes later. Then behaved itself for the little while that I spend pondering whether to go find this thread (which is... definitely in the wrong subforum... but, hey!) and say anything.

Which, basiclly, I just have done.  Well, it appears that my work on this planet is complete. I must now return to my homeworld... on the planet Zarquon.

e: Further datum points... 11:49 (UTC) 9/Dec it happened again. Next check at ~13:47 also 504ed. Just now (14:08+) back... obviously. Most recent "unread thread" was posted at 14:01:58, next most recent was 10:29:54.  The sole "updated since it broke" thread (until now, but re-edits don't show up that way anyway) was posted at 09:06:43 (before the issue), 12:13:39 (between my attempts) then the 14:01 one. So limited data, but they point at intermitency, not one long failure. Too few measurable interactions to give greater resolution. And, if it was write-busy, that might make it more difficult to compile the stats and/or be causing the problem.

Oh, and Zarquon isn't that much fun today, either, so I wandered back here.
