It is the best thing they could do. The Tau are an embarassment that need to be removed from the franchise permanently. The way they'll do it will be lore-consistent and without fuss, which is the ideal way to handle them.

I'm sorry, but all the holes on this planet have been filled in with the corpses of your xeno-waifu masters.

Don't worry, maybe the Eldar will deign to keep you as a pet instead.

Uh, they're Tau.
Also, funilly enough, if Tau ever recieve Squat treatment, it will be literally the same, eaten by Tyranids.

They have a rather limited definition of 'the greater good', at least if that Arch video was accurate.
Because the Imperium is so much better! :P

I think GW made them Dark because their old characterization was too sympathetic, and didn't fit the mood.

So, I can't seem to find that video anymore, so I would greatly appreciate a link.

Also, are you being honest right now? You're using a single video to contradict the second most significant aspect of the Tau in terms of their philosophy: inclusivity. Furthermore, limited in comparison to what, exactly? The list of things Slaaneshi followers are permitted to bang?

Humans are boring. And far, far too boringly grimdark. Seriously, there needs to be some kind of contrast.

Being good doesn't rely on being interesting, uh. And even if Imperium is boring (and it's not), it's still humanity.

That's why you get the bolt round RPG. :P

Assimilation is one of the classic sci-fi horror archetypes. If the Tau had to bore out your skull or do something invasive (other than make you wimpy) as part of your absorption, it wouldn't be so la-di-da we be friends. I think the logic ultimately goes though, if you're going to be ruled by someone, outright oppression vs. subtle oppression, better still that it be a human than an alien determining the fate of the species.

I am like, completly sure that you're mind controlled by Tau Ethereal now.
Better let your own race stop existing and get forgotten because you enjoy some Weaboo mind-control alien and think that the extreme sacrifices of your onw kind and our violent struggle for survival is evil.
