Petra

Raise a Vinewall such that I, and the tree, and separated from lemmings and the slime, so as to give me some breathing room. Have it slant outwards, and raise it with great force.

Glass is, as usual, correct.
Yep, as ever, I bestow upon Glass the expected +1
I'm gonna say we go with whatever Glass's idea is.

”The ground will be raised too, right? I don’t think our tree will be able to live off of the vines’ nutrients”

It is a wall, not a pedestal.

Oh yes, sorry for the misunderstanding. Does anyone have any ideas for how we can get the tree to begin growing again?

"Warmth. Sunlight. Change of seasons. Rising of the sap." warbles Old Oak in deep bass.

Turn them to fertilizer. If you drag the bodies over I could manifest to do so, minerals and fertilizer.

.. I noticed it running low. It needs them to grow and produce mana.

Old Oak wiggles. In his experience, dead things turn to fertiliser just fine on their own, but it won't make a field bloom, or, uh, a tree produce mana in the deep freeze.

"I feel like you overestimate our number of options. If killing and perhaps absorbing these pathetic creatures does not work, all that will be left is to wait and hope that a Dryad better suited for the task should awaken."

"Yeah, it's essentially just wait it out and pray for the sun."

Winter 7, Year 0

The spirits discuss a summoning, but the idea didn't pan out.
Petra raises a Vinewall. Its slanted outwards and placed between the slime and the tree. It is not big enough to encircle the tree however.

The Slime moves in to attack the Vinewall! The wall obstructs the Slime's attack, but the wall fell over upon impact!

The Lemmings just sort of chill.

Something else is approaching from the distance...

Slime: 2/5hp
Lemming: 2/2hp
Lemming: 2/2hp

Old Oak, seeing nothing better to do at the moment (that wouldn't be vetoed), idly wonders whether it could make an illusory sun. And is an illusory sun ultimately different from a real sun? In theory, anyone armed with a mirror can make an illusory sun if a real sun is visible. In fact, that's how starting fires with a magnifying glass works, in a sense: making an illusory sun that is MUCH ANGRIER. Many illusory suns, more properly, each pointing at the fire at a different angle, made out of the sunlight collected over the entire surface of the lens. Is there even a sun in this world? Old Oak realises it hasn't seen one for as long as it has lived, which feels like about a few minutes. It's not sure how, or whether it even knows what a sun is. Or a mirror, magnifying glass, or fire, actually. This whole line of thought has been very confusing for it. It guesses this must be what they call "nonplussed".

do we summon one of us? If so, who? Or should we heal Petra? Or do we not cast any spells yet?
