Shef
Could be an Awakened ability activated on instinct. It's not uncommon for some Awakened to be able to phase out of reality to avoid harm. Impersonation is rarely perfect against Godslayers, there should be errors or some sort of noticeable power supply to keep everything running.

Yoake walks over to the shrine maiden first, politely waving as she approaches. "I notice you've taken quite the likin' to today's session! Are you a fellow Keijo Star, or are you simply interested in the history? From your outfit, it seems ta be the latter."

Noriko couldn't stop the momentary scowl that flickered across her face as Yuki briefly babbled about Faith's talk with Minato. She was still annoyed with him, something not likely to fade in the near future. "Um, okay, thanks Yuki. Were there any other tables that needed to be served?"

Faith twirled her hair around her finger some more. "No, it didn't go poorly at all! It went pretty well actually, and I came over here to talk to you, Yuki." Faith looked at Noriko and visibly noticed the scowl... but also clearly chose not to comment on it.

"Thanks for understanding." Shef took a sip of his tea. Either awakened, some type of ghost, or some other type of imposter. Isn't a brief thing though, as she's been around all day. Seems likely that she'll at least be around for a bit longer. . . Shef turned to the landlord. "Are there any unoccupied apartments where she can stay the night? I can pay if necessary, since after two years, it's unlikely that she has active bank accounts or any cash." He was, however, of the opinion that his landlord would turn down this offer, and let the woman stick around for free. Thinking back to Enn's message, and a little uncertain of what a power supply might look like, Shef glanced over the woman searching for something that might be that. Necklaces? A purse? Her wallet hadn't had anything weird in it besides the receipt, right?

Within that world, she was God. But here, outside of it, her name was Yoake o-Shiri. That was unimportant. She was a Godslayer. That too was unimportant. But what was important, was that she had a motherfucking boat.
And by God, was she going to use it.

Yoake
"Huh? Oh, nothing like that! I hadn't even heard of it til today, someone left a flyer at the church and I got curious, that's all. Never been too good with martial arts, I prefer mahjong." Her phone vanishes and out come several amulets. Sleight of hand you note, as opposed to conjuration. Sure enough they do look sorta like large mahjong tiles. "The name's Aiko by the way, Aiko Matsuda. I've heard an awful lot about you."

Shef
"No, no no, I can't allow that! You've done enough. Hmm, there's no vacancies, but there should be some hotels nearby, I can cover the expenses."
"Thanks but I can't possib-"
"Now listen here lass, I've spent the last year thinking you were dead, lemme have this one."
"I don't see how-"
"Now now, there's no reason to be courteous, you've a lot to catch up on, save your energy for that."
"R-right."

She doesn't seem to have anything that jumps out as a power source. She's got a necklace and pendant, but you've a feeling that something that tiny is probably not going to be supply enough power to keep that up, not without it being noticeable at least.

After finishing the tea, and sending a few more texts to Enn along the lines of "still alive", Shef put the cups in the sink. After reentering the small living room, he said, "Well, might as well go find you a hotel room before it's too late then. You also need to get some stuff, since I doubt you're carrying any extra clothes or a toothbrush or anything after two years. We'll need to find some way to get you back on your feet to support yourself, since you're adverse to charity, and most jobs don't rehire after two year absences and being thought dead. Might be able to pretend it was a kidnapping or something, but that would require some additional work." Shef removed his jacket from it's hook, and put it on as a sign that they could leave, and begin the task.

Shef
"R-right..." she pauses for a moment "You don't have to do this for me you know... I mean, we barely even know each other, and I'll manage, I-I'm sure of it!" "Now now, I'm sure Alex has his reasons, you know, you never struck me as the good samaritan type, not sure why." He slaps you on the back with a slight stumble before escorting Hanako out the door.

Shef's eyes flicked briefly over to the landlord. He'd have to work a bit harder at that then. How often had he actually interacted with the landlord for him to know that? Or was it because he hadn't made a point of talking to the guy. . . Always the rare possibility that the man knew more than he was letting on, possibly from someone unknown, but possibly from the AIs. . .

"I'm sure you'll manage, but things will be a lot easier if you let me and Mr. Koizumi assist. I'll only be able to do a bit, as I have an appointment later this evening. First things first, you'll need a suitcase or a backpack to hold stuff in, depending on how much you need." Shef followed along with them, heading to whichever store nearby might have suitcases. (Are there Japanese Walmarts or equivalents in the area?)

Shef
"O-of course, but do I still have anything, I kept everything in here and..."
Koizumi shakes his head sadly "Your family got rid of it all, couldn't bear keeping it around, coping with the grief and everything. We'd best contact them soon then once we find you a place, get cash from them as well and if all else fails crash there."
She nods and heads the the lift and as she do so your landlord quickly turns, whispering a question to your ear "We've gotta get her to a doctor soon right? Missing all that memory can't be a good sign."

"Not certain. Her memory is lacking, but it's coherent. No gaps or anything. For now, no taking her to a doctor. If she was missing for two years, something illegal probably happened. Kidnapping or something. Ransom probably wasn't paid, since her family didn't know she was alive. More likely she escaped. Don't want to much info of her being here getting around." Taking her to a doctor was out of the question in Shef's mind, for other reasons. First of all, unless the doctor was sworn to secrecy, this would attract far too much attention. Secondly, it seemed unlikely that a doctor would be able to deal with what was likely a supernatural occurrence, either an awakened person, or an imitation of a dead woman. Even contacting Hanako's family seemed risky, but he wasn't sure how to deter it.

"Have they shut down Hanako's accounts? Seems likely, but there's a possibility that it didn't happen." Shef also took a moment, after they stepped out onto the sidewalk, to write up a text to Enn.
Quote
Did they ever find Hanako's body? And what was done with it? Currently trying to get her back on her feet without attracting attention, since that will be necessary if just awakened. If an imposter, shouldn't be a big problem. Basically shopping. Also: Know a discreet Dr. who we can take her to?

Shef
"I-I see, well she's safe for now at least, not sure 'bout the accounts but I suspect that's the case."

Yes, it was cremated, it wasn't in much of a state for much else. I'll send over their address now.
Do you need a real doctor or just someone who appears as one?

"Don't worry, we'll get her to a doctor at some point, just not immediately." Shef muttered to the older man. "Here." Shef pointed to the entrance of a medium sized department store, which would hopefully be a good enough place to start. Once they had entered, and made their way to the travel section, Shef made an expansive gesture to Mr. Koizumi and Hanako, obviously implying that they should start looking. The gesture also implied that Shef himself wasn't going to involve himself in picking out suitcases. "Well, here we are. Pick something you like."

Preferably a real doctor, with knowledge of Awakened. Preferably discreet, to pass off as an ordinary doctor, but still give some more info to me. Can someone awaken after death? How was the body identified?

Shef
It's not unheard of. There's three active reincarnations of King Arthur and that's just the ones I've heard of. The body was identified from its possessions,
dental records, and DNA testing. If it's a fake, then whoever made it has done a very thorough job.
