I, a human, agree with Egan about the fear of spiders being irrational. Humans are not seen as prey, and thus won’t be targeted.

I've just realized that spiderbots do NOT trigger my instinctual rage-state transformation regarding real arachnids.

Welcome to human society, robotic bug friends.

EDIT: In truth, I recognize that spiders are a valuable, essential, and beneficial part of our ecosystem. My fear of spiders is in fact a bonafide irrational phobia.
