Roll to Be a Bandit
(in a generic medieval low-fantasy world)

It's time to fight for your life.

It was a time of lawlessness and poverty.  The new king's decrees had rendered it impossible to earn an honest living as a peasant.  In short, you became a bandit.
When you were caught, the laws said you were to be hanged, but the king decided to do something rather more interesting with the recent rash of captured bandits.
Kill the others, he said to all of the prisoners, and you may go free.
Now you are kneeling on the arena floor, scarcely daring to move, waiting for the signal to begin.  Somebody grabs your ear and drags you into the centre of the floor, forcing you into a loose circle with a small group of other convicts.
Then someone tosses a pair of sharpened sticks into the middle of the circle, and shouts, "Begin!"

Hello.  Welcome to RTBAB, my second game.  Due to the interest gathered in the Roller's Block thread I've decided to take my cue from Gatleos' wonderful Hero Caddies RTD and go with the anonymous-deathmatch style of determining spots.  People who've already expressed interest have just been PM'd with their colour, and people who haven't but still want in have a little over twenty-four hours to PM me for their colour.  After spots have been determined the game will begin in earnest.  Good luck!

The City - The biggest city in the world.  Filled with guards, shops, inns, merchants, and extremely rich noblemen.  Six gates are set in the great walls.
The Eastern Ocean - Filled with exotic fish and deadly predators, the coastline of the Eastern Ocean is dotted with tiny villages and fishing huts.  The water is salty and the fish cannot be eaten raw, making survival tricky, and the City's great wall overlooks the entirety of the shore.
The Embertops - Mostly dormant volcano chain.  Its fertile soil yields plentiful food and the hundreds of caves make finding shelter easy.  Was one full of lightly-guarded merchant caravans, but bandits moved in and the merchants moved out.
The Great Desert - A sandy desert, the largest in the world.  Oases and wild plants and animals are scarce but can be found.  Guards rarely venture out here.
The Wasteland - Nothing can be found here but death and desolation.
Spinner's Grove - Vast forest, extremely old.  Food, water and shelter are common, but few people venture into the forest on account of the spider infestation.

Wasteland Wolf - A solitary hunter only vaguely resembling any kind of canine.  Black-furred, five feet tall at the shoulder and extremely thin, it is the stuff of nightmares for many, and is part of the reason the Wasteland is uninhabited.  Rumours that its eyes glow red at a full moon or that its bite is venomous remain unconfirmed.
Dire Bear - A massive creature that stalks the wasteland.  It walks about on its hind legs and is extremely hairy, giving the impression that it's even bigger then it actually is.  It has been observed taking bites out of boulders when food is scarce.
Hunting Spider - A man-eating arachnid infesting Spinner's Grove.  Specimens as large as schoolchildren have been reported.  Hunting spiders rarely work in groups, but when they do, no prey can escape.

Pointed Stick - A stick that is pointy.  +1 to damage.
Length of String - One meter of sturdy twine.
Empty Sack - A burlap sack that is empty.  Things can be put in it.
Walking Stick - This is essentially a stick with a knot on the end.  It can be used as a one-time weapon for a +1 to damage, or as a crutch.
Ragged Hat - It keeps the sun out of your eyes.  An essential part of the "ragged" look that's all the rage these days.
Hand Mirror - Reflective glass, small enough to hold in your hand.  Can be used to redirect light.
Rusty Spear - It could probably be cleaned up to become an Iron Spear.  +1 to damage.
Torch - When lit, lights up a dark area.

Name: Rukukin
Description: A young, bald-headed man who's a bit on the short side, and a temper to match. His goal is...Was...To become a martial artist, but somewhere along the way a devious monkey overpowered him! He's now living as a bandit.
Background: Rukukin was born in a village where every child's head is shaved, and they are given small "Star" tattoos on their head, to signify their worth. 7 is the highest honor to receive, and 1 star is the lowest; - Rukukin has six stars.

Name: Eggen
Description: An average sized late twenties with straw hair and grey eyes.
Background: Eggen was never particularly criminal minded but just kind of fell in with the wrong group of people after getting arrested for accidentally taking part in a protest against the previous ruler. Ended up hassled and in debt when in jail and eventually came to the conclusion that the best way to have a quiet life was via the application of internal organ rupturing ultra violence. Now he’s out – and in again, and out again – it’s just proving a hard life to leave… especially when the money for performing forced liver removals is so good… Over time he’s become a little detached from the real world, convinced that there’s no situation he can’t get out of by stabbing someone in the pancreas. And if he dies? Well, he figures he deserves it by now. None of it was really his fault, anyway. It’s just how things work out. Sometimes you make choices, sometimes they’re made for you. Sometimes there just aren’t choices, there’s just what happens.

Name: Jake
Description: A tall thin man with a goatee.
Background: Jake enjoys killing. He enjoys it a lot. He first kidnapped someone when he was 15, he then ransomed them for enough money to finance further kidnappings. Nearly all of his victims where returned dead, and he uses a dagger to slit their throats. He is a quiet person, with a trustworthy face. He was caught trying to ransom a wealthy merchant.

Name: Old Alan
Description: An old man, completely bald and blind in one eye.
Background: Old Alan tends to go on and on about how back in his day, he was the most feared bandit in the country, a heartless robber with a pile of plundered riches bigger than most houses. In actuality he's just a crazy old man who got thrown into jail for somehow managing to rob a small merchant caravan. It's unknown whether Old is actually his first name.

Name: Jared Collen
Description: Surprisingly good looking for a bandit. Blonde hair, green eyes, kinda muscular, and has a surprisingly high voice. Often wears different clothes depending on his mood, but he's stuck with..brown...or something, so he's sticking with Giddy as his mood for now.
Background: As a child, Jared was spoiled. His parents were rich, and he ended getting everything he wanted in life. Until he hit 18. His parents started running out of money from his elaborate requests, so they kicked him out to go get a job. That job? A cutpurse. A Thief. A...Bandit. He would come home every day with sacks of gold, and his parents were ecstatic, if not confused. He had never held a job in his life, what makes him so good now? He was able to distract people with his charm long enough for him to swipe their valuables. Once his parents found out from an anonymous tip, they were torn about what to do. Ultimately, they turned him over, and he spent years in Jail. Surprisingly, he was able to maintain his looks through those years, and still tries to use them to his advantage.

Name: Bogdan Mstislav
Description: A tall, bearded man with brown eyes, Bogdan has an incredibly gruff voice despite his 'Gentlemanly' ways.
Background: An orphaned child, Bogdan never met his parents, instead being raised by the local priest. At the age of 12 however, he got taken away by nobles to work as a slave. After a while he managed to escape,  living by mugging people who he thought deserved it. Nobles, thugs, murderers, all the same to him- People who have done 'Bad things.'

Your post in the Amnesia thread may have been a bit out of line, you could've left without saying anything. It may have been a bit harsh to warn you for that.
