X-Com Apocalypse is probably abandonware by now.
It's old but there's a bit of destruction to do.

Well lot of games got on "abandownware" but got back on digital sales with Gog, and now Steam and ect... Two buck isn't a lot, but two bucks for a 15 year old game is still appreciable.

Jokes aside there's plenty of "physic sandboxes" on the free game list. Most of them I find hard to really class as "games" but they can be fun to dick around with.

Crush the Castle - The (arguably more fun) precursor to Angry Birds. Also check out the sequel.

Happy Wheels - Plenty of fun to be had with the physics. Although, usually the thing getting destroyed is your player.

Minotaur China Shop is great for this. You start out trying not to wreck things, but the Minotaur can fly into a rage if he accidentally breaks too much stuff, which sets you on the path to wrecking your entire store for the insurance payouts.

Indestrucotank (and its various sequels) is a sidescrolling flash game where you blow up planes and tanks by bouncing your indestructible tank onto them.

Burrito Bison is more or less the same, only it's an enraged bison luchador who got sucked into Candyland and forced to fight their champion, so he breaks free and starts bouncing gummies instead.

Powder Game is more of a physics simulator than a proper game, but it can be interesting to create little steel bowls or stone platforms and then scour them away with wind-driven lava or by dribbling acid onto them.

I'm sure I know more free ways to smash things than this, but none of them come to mind.
