Ok the standard world gen has vanilla ore distribution which means youll miss out on a lot of the mod features.

What about the generic advanced profiles like "medium region?" Will those have mod friendly ore distribution?
"Frequent" is ok. scarcity = 500. if you want more there yet "Everywhere"

You guys should be using the Advanced one not the vanilla one. Plus there is an World Gen in the GUI.

The best scarcity is 100 (lower means more minerals, and 100 is the minimal number you can use here).

the manual seems a bit out of date.
i disable some stuff normaly now i can't.

Wow, do invaders plant their own buildings?

My stone decoy was wrecked by invading wizards, and what's on that grid now is:
Stray Stone Decoys right leg granite
*granite statue of griffons*

That last is not from me.  It's worth 300, has water covering, and the description is: This is a masterful granite statue of griffons created by an unknown artisan  The item is a masterfully designed image of two griffons in granite

Do those little pipsqueaks think they're gonna muscle in on MY turf???

I think that the stone decoy's corpse is actually just a statue - with the same randomness if any statue.

Well yes the manual is pretty outdated and in some cases the explanations are vague and not clear.

You should log in the #Masterwork IRC channel in Freenode.

There is people 24/7 connected there, and you can make any questions about MW, for sure anyone will know anything you want to know.

Stone Decoys are actually removed from crafting, but Meph forgot to remove them from the Embark shop.

I'm having an issue with a strange mood. I've never had this happen in my dozen+ vanilla forts, so I assume it's mod related. 4c, win7, masterwork w/ironhand walls.

I had a gem cutter enter a secretive mood. He wanted one item: a rough gem. After grabbing it, he went to work in the shop. Q'ing over the shop showed that he "works secretly". Yet the mood never completes and he goes berserk. He is not unhappy, and the mood is not interrupted by anything external. Is there something other than a lack of required materials that can cause a mood to fail? Is there something I can do, like a dfhack command, that will force the mood to complete? I seem to recall reading about a command that would add items to a mood... Any help would be appreciated. I have a save with the mood in progress if it will help.

If it takes too long, it will fail. However, if he only needed one rough gem then it probably wasn't an issue of having to wait a long time for the item requirements to fulfill. Was the workshop cluttered at all? I forget if clutter slows down mood-work like regular work.

I recently updated masterwork version but i'm having trouble finding the Athlete skill anywhere in Dwarf Therapist or the in game preferences window. Can anyone help me locate it since I must be blind? Also previous versions of Masterwork allowed you to turn castes off. Is this still doable? I seem to be unable to locate that button in the settings window too. Thanks.

I've only ever seen athlete skill show up in Therapist when viewing an individual dwarf's details. I've also never seen legendary athlete alter the attribute stats, but Legendary athletes do seem to kick more ass.
