The plot is escalating rapidly. This ought to be interesting.

So, about this part of the plot ... am I the only one to notice that Infinite Space used three GUNDAM references in a single arc?

1. Monarho falling = COLONY DROP ("Operation Meteor")
2. Project Stellalumo = GENESIS (and probably earlier iterations of it)

I understand from TVTropes that they do throw in a lot of references to other media. I almost used 'Colony Drop' instead of 'Rock Falls, Everyone Dies' , but that would have given away what was going to happen a lot more.

Yeah, they do.

But that one was one of the corniest, if you're a mecha geek. :P Kudos to anyone who noticed that the deflector blueprint drop we got earlier was a hint of what they were planning to do (did you pay attention to Nia's lines on that? She caught up real quick.)

I mean, this game was already Legend of the Galactic Heroes all over as soon as the Lugovalian invasion popped up. Then we have Valentin's Corsair as an impromptu Space Battleship Yamato. Now we have GUNDAMS ... if they drop a Neon Genesis Evangelion plot arc, I won't bat an eyelash. 8)

"Oh, but will they???" ... stay tuned!!!! This is (STRANGE ADVENTURES in) Infinite Space! ;D

I do remember some pretty mind-trippy stuff later on. Whether it qualifies as a NGE plot or not is more than I'm willing to speculate on until we actually reach that point :P

I believe I know what you're both referring to, and beyond its accidental usefulness to us, I couldn't say where it came from.

T-minus two to three updates to the midway point of the game!

We're getting pretty close to where I bailed on playing (too busy with RL stuff, as well as catching up on some backlogging). I better start playing again as to not spoil myself on the rest of the plot.

"DA SIN LUGOVALOS".
It means, "We Are Lugovalos".

:P

This ... is going to be a lopsided slaughter.

Nonsense! The Mighty Armada of the Central Elgavan Fleet will Destroy the Obsolete Antiques of this Single System Barbarian culture!

This announcement brought to you by the Central Elgavan Forces propaganda public relations department.

Of course it is.  Lugovalos stands no chance against the might of Elgava's finest.  RUSSIA ELGAVA STRONK!

Is this basically Space Roman Empire invading Space Gaul?

More like Space Romans invading Space Russia, without General Winter around to screw things up.
