We probably have lots of extra money from all that investing we didn't do.  Maybe handing it out will improve our prestige - which, revolt-crushing aside, we sorely lack.

Money!

Employment sounds simple enough, but what if we hire a spy?
A spy trying to win a tournament to gain the royalty's trust seems a little bit too contrived, so yeah Employment

Employment. Better spies in the civil service or soldiery than the nobility, at any rate.

Employment 7

Option? I don't recall mentioning that they have a choice in the matter...

Which I guess works better when the applicants don't have to worry about never being able to leave again.

He's remarkably good at letting us make blind decisions and then figuring out all the details for us.

Probably better than:

Calligraphy: Failed
Decoration: Failed
Accounting: Failed
Novan History: Failed

Well speak of the devil! More things we know nothing about except that some of our servants need to be beaten.

Oh goodie.

Doesn't that guy hate us?

She asks cheerily, remembering the last time he butchered a peasant on her rug.

Oh, or that.

A snake!

Oh, that's way better.

Might as well be from Santa Claus, for as well as we're going to know who that is.

Um

Yay

...

Oh no

No

Noooooooooooo!

Thus does our invincible warrior-queen fall, not in battle but through treachery. As invincible warrior-queens kind of have to fall, being invincible everywhere else and all.

Game Over~

I was so expecting it. Isn't that place the place where they had chocolate shortage?

Or poison. Or divination. Or trade. Or any skills that doesn't relate to crushing your enemies.

For what it's worth, even if we did double dogs this week it wouldn't have been enough.

No spoils!

Also, take that the whole "We killed all the internal threat, we don't need intrigue skills" crowd! You killed Axpendable!

To be fair, precisely zero intrigue skills would have helped us at that point.  Dogs, Production + Trade, Court Manners, and Poison were the checks made immediately before the chocolates.

I think our main problem seems to have been we took TOO LONG to become an awesome magespy. If we had just started killing people significantly earlier, I think we would have been fine!

So next run, I think we should focus on killing people as quickly and effectively as possible.

Alternately, we should try to become a proper queen with decorum and court manners and flattery and ah, who am I kidding?  We should just be glad we didn't throw Duchess Ursul in prison just so we'd have someone to gloat at.  ^_^

No, that would be cool. Maybe we don't need to fight a civil war!
