Isbilya turned back to Lillian, looking like she had broken a plate.

"Ooops... I think I might have overdone it... You think he'll be ok?"

Then, after noticing the girl in the room, Isbilya turned to face her.

"Hey, are you ok? I hope I haven't hurt you. I mean, the door broke, and you were standing behind it..."

[SeriousConcentrate]

"No, I don't. But he WAS trying to stop us. I'm not exactly in favor of hurting people but I'm not staying on this island a minute longer than I have to."

Lillian looked past Isbilya to see who she had greeted.

"You're... not going to try to stop us too, are you?"

[Sirus]

Harlan grunted in pain, annoyed that the axeman had gotten past his guard. At least the girl hit her mark this time.
: "Well, that saves me the trouble of picking the lock...now, who's this? You aren't going to call for the guards, are you?"

[Haspen]

Days and days and days upon days:

"Your food."

"Your new blanket."

"Bucket's in the corner."

"Don't complain, food ain't gonna get better."

"I did clean it!"

"It is chicken meat! Eat up already."

Siiiiiiiiiiiigh.

Laura wasn't particularily happy about the job. Food and blankets and laundry for the people he might not see again one day or even worse, meet them in the corridor as they're dragged toward the execution site. These were the worst moments. And work only piled up with all that religious mumbo-jumbo that sprung up lately. She barely had time to remember the faces. Except that one singing girl. Rarely anyone sings in prison, after all.

Just a while ago:

"Hold a door? Can't you assign someone else-- Uh..."

But what to do. Warden says, Laura does. Maybe causing so much problems at the previous posts wasn't worth it? Laura was thinking about all what happened, noticing only after a while that something was happening behind the door. When it collapsed, and the dust settled...

"...!"

"Uhhh, what are you doing? Go back to your cells! Or, um, I will have to fight you, not that I'm trying to get, I mean. I will only have more problems!"

Never before Laura had to face a prison break, and the fact these were armed prisoners didn't help her confidence at all.

"Oh, well it seems you are ok. Well, might want to stay here. Things are going to get messy. And you seem nice, I'd rather not have to hurt you."

[Haspen]

"You're crazy, did anyone ever tell you?" Laura bit her bottom lip.

"Letting you go would be as bad as if I deserted my post; Warden will have me hanging alongside your bodies! No, no, get back to the cells, I will tell that, uh, a brick fell on this guy's head or, or something! Go back, or, or else!" She said, panicked, clutching on her lance.

[SeriousConcentrate]

"Sorry. I don't want to get you in trouble, but I'll go crazy if I spend another week in that cell."

Lilly strummed her guitar idly, tuning it as she went.

"...Why don't you come with us? You don't look or sound very happy to be here, and if they're going to hang you just for letting us go, you might as well go all in."

"Because, uh... well, with us you might live. It's about six on one, excepting myself and the priest, and I don't think some of these guys would spare you if you tried to stop us... and if you stay here you say you're as good as dead. Really, breaking out is the best chance you have now."

[Haspen]

"You ARE crazy. _{You do have a point though...}"

Laura was frustrated about all this. She thought about her military career which is going to end, and about her father, about her elder brothers, and everyone who will be after her when this gets out of the bag...

"It seems, though, it's the only choice if I want to stay alive... and I want to. Well, I'm with you then..." She quickly tore the small badge off her left breast and cast it away, staring at the tiny golden dot on it, the mark of a recruit.

_{"Oh I'm so dead."} She mumbled in defeat.

[SeriousConcentrate]

"Well... I'm sorry to put you in this mess, but I'm not sorry we aren't leaving you for dead or worse."

"My name is Lillian Rose, of the Rose family of Alberal."

_{"Sort of. Formerly. Something like that. I don't even know anymore."}

"What's your name?"

[Haspen]

"Just call me Laura."

"And, um, I know this isn't a good moment..."

"But I always wanted to tell you that you have a nice, uh, singing, voice."

[SeriousConcentrate]

"Oh? Why, thank you! Thank you so much."

Lilly smiled to herself and looked down, pleased.

"I'm glad you think so. It wouldn't do to be bad at what one enjoys!"

Senija looks with mild interest at the conversation, smiles a little as Laura joins, and then shrugs and walks forward to go be with the front group, tapping her lance lightly on the floor as she walked.
:"I'll hang around up here in the front! Let 'em come at us!"

After Lilly managed to convince the new girl to join up, Harlan let out a silent sigh of relief. The way the conversation had been going, he had been sure that someone (probably Laura) would have ended up dead.

The sigh quickly turned into a coughing fit, and the thief grimaced. He had been in that damn cell for to long; even this little bit of exercise was leaving him short of breath, and the pain from his axe wound wasn't helping.

: "Let's get moving, people. Someone might have heard the commotion."
