You like making things up a lot. If you allowed guns in the world, I wouldn't be saying this; guns are rather excellent, and far more efficient, at least, than magic.

But a bloody bow and arrow doesn't compare to fire balls. Or seventy arrows per second launched by a single mage. Or a magic bow. Or really anything else we can do, considering it's so mundane.

And I want you take a moment and think about what you just said. Overestimate magic. What else would you call what we do with Essence? Overestimating magic is rather like overestimating a sun; if you've done it, chances are nothing else you do will matter be able to work either.

And Cyrix, if you're concerned for their souls, I could help teach them to tap into the Ley Lines and keep the power stored.

That said, I suggested magic mostly because it sounds like you want them to remain Owls. In all honesty, magic in combination with weapons, tools and armor is the best way to go about doing it.

"I don't need to ruin the development of weapons. I will let the develop naturally. What exactly am I making up?

It really does. The Armu can fire hundreds of arrows at once with no need for magic, it is what they are designed to do. Even a skilled human swordsman can easily beat a mage in single combat. Mages fall all the time to swordsmen, bowmen, crossbowmen, random thugs with knives, maces, hammers, and an assortment of other weapons. They are not nearly as powerful as you believe them to be. Have you ever actually seen a mage in combat?

What we do with essence is Creation. Because we are Gods. It is a completely different system then mortal magic, which you would know about if you knew anything about either. Despite our claims, you seem to be completely ignorant on both.

You are overestimating magic. That is plain and simple. You think it is doing far more in the world then it really is."

Ok final decision on what the guardians are, deal with it. They shall be the great owls as described before with same population numbers and all. They will each be assigned 5 Sewa to protect from birth, usually it will be a family that they will protect as the family grows maybe they are given as gifts to married couples etc. they will have powerful talons and they will be very strong, they will also have (low 1-2?) pcymental and elemental magic ability.

(You should probably look at the OOC OP and specify what kind of magic you want to attune them to.)

"I think I will prove a point."

I find a Legendary +5 Armu crossbowman, load him up with as many beltbows as he can comfortably use, and have him unload down range. Count the rounds per second.

I then find an Expert Mage of Darruth's and have him do the same thing. Compare the results.

...You know, I am not sure how many beltbows Darruth's mages can carry, so he will be able to use his magic instead.

"A thought flew into my head. Together, I, Fusil, and Joha make the holy trinity of combat-types: magical, physical and chi. That means that if Joha applied herself, she could easily be considered a war goddess. Pretty interesting idea, right? Joha of all people being a war goddess, I mean."
((It's also interesting to note that the three main war deities are all female. Odd considering that in most verses, war gods are usually male.))

Support 97.00: Have a celebration for the 100th tick
Abstain 97.03
Oppose 80.05.2.1: A total of 3 gods must support a proposal to allow it to pass. "Proposals rarely pass even now. The last thing the Bubble needs is for the Council to do even less than what it's doing now."

(That's way more science than I can understand. Could you give a small summary about what it means?)

I propose to amend it to say "At least three gods must publicly support a proposal for it to be able to pass"
Abstain. "Regardless of how 80.05.2.1 is worded, it's still a bad idea."

"I think I will prove a point."

"This is hardly a fair challenge. Here we have a Legendary +5 champion versus a mere Expert champion."
I find a Legendary +5 Darruthian battlemage specialising in rapid bolt-firing via magic and have it enter the competition.

I'm not certain Joha has or wants to have anything to do with chi, or if it even exists as something seperate from magic. Speaking of which, Malkath, I still fail to understand why you consider yourself so afiliated with magic.

Tick 99: Losing is fun!

Spoiler: misc (click to show/hide)
Cyrix: You have attended the feast and blessed your hosts after departing. You have given them knowledge of prayer rituals to be followed for your blessing for their harvests, and they gratefully follow them.

Zekeb and Uthon have begun searching for the escapees. Where they used to be are jelly rolls labeled "BLASPMIN GABMBLIN HALL OWNER"

Azxar has taken the woman to I along with the branch on which she was hanged.

(Joha: Bienen instead of Wargs, then)

(Malakath: -7E, Cyrix: -2E)
Malakath: Odolhirum has begun accumulating additional traders and immigrants and begun developing its own nobility. While more outside nobility send their children to train with the Bellatores Sanatores, most consider it to be ruinous for security. A veritable sea of mer-chants carrying immense caravans and immigrants have entered the city, raising its population to 1.1M.

Cyrix worship and close relations with the nearby Sewa do seem to have much benefit to Odolhirum, which has a relatively low per capita skipped meals count. ISAY and its assets have been teleported by the still-new mages' guild and Malakath's assistance.

Art output is steadily increasing in Odolhirum.

(Neron: -3E)
Neron: You create 50 000 Rani. The seed planted has grown to become a young frosty tree of some sort.

(Azem: -4E)
Azem: You create 900 000 Mountwyrms and Dwarves.

(Fortuna: -5E)
Fortuna:
"I don't know. I'm not a king."
"Yes, praise The Auspex for granting me these gloves!"
The Rod is now in the sun. "Awwww. Fine."
The child is now under your implicit protection.
"Do they really carry them off? How spooky! I do want those pouches, though."
The coin lands on edge. "Awww."
You have also created a thousand Turonni and the city of Chance (/ʃɑ̃s/?).

KI'Tork has toured the worlds advising novice cooks about cooking.

Cyrix has created the Sewa's guardians, tall owls with low psymental and elemental ability intended to protect each family from birth. @@@

A Legendary +5 Armu crossbowman has fired off an estimated four hundred bolts in a minute. The Expert Mage of Darruth stacked the bolts neatly in five minutes. A Legendary +5 Darruthian battlemage specializing in rapid bolt-firing could not be found. Instead, a Legendary +5 mage who happens to like a game of stacking cups has come and stacked cups rapidly.

(Legendary +5: Not canon)

Numerous Wood Elf, Mountwyrm, Golem, Wolf person, Seraph-Cherub-Ophan, Night Elf, Human, and Luminee cities and Odolhirum have been struck by a sudden immense Merfolk invasion from marketplaces and graveyards. A large fraction of major Mountwyrm, Golem, Wolf person, Night Elf, Human, and Luminee cities are practically already conquered, and the remaining are suffering heavy losses and collateral damage. The Burning Days' castle has, in a twist of actual irony, been locked up, oiled, and torched with no survivors. The Sanatores' headquarters are currently under siege. Much priceless research data and prototypes from ISAY and the DSMS have been destroyed irretrievably.

This update's constellations are the Dragon and Candle.

Speaking of which, Malkath, I still fail to understand why you consider yourself so afiliated with magic.
"Currently, all magic is powered by the user's soul."
"Considering that I'm actually getting Influence from general magic-use ((GM confirmed)), I have reason to believe Fusil's assessment to be true."

"What do you even know of combat to separate it into types?"
"It was just a light conversation piece. It wasn't meant to be taken seriously and certainly not worth arguing over. I should've known better than to do anything vaguely light-hearted when it comes to the Council."

(NINJA'D!)

Anyone who knows a good reason for NOT boiling the oceans can say them now.
"Probably because the result will be something like this:"
The sun appears to have dimmed severely from Keshan. A long, dark winter is upon it.

(I'll write up an actual response in a bit.)

I send out my angel priests to do some scouting. They will put wards on themselves to protect against detection - optical(invisibility), magical, etc. - before going. Since a god is almost certainly behind this, they will be warded against divine sight as well.

I send one angel priest to the Bellatorus Headquarters. There, it will remove its optical ward and add some very strong protection wards. Then, it will attempt parley with the Merfolk (while behind a shield and decked in armour, of course).

Five will try to locate military leaders of the Merfolk invasion.

The other fifteen will stay with me until I can figure out something better to do with them.

I ask the angel priest I had stationed in Merfolk lands why he didn't report that the Merfolk were preparing an invasion. It takes months or even years to prepare a full-scale mobilisation of such a large army. Did he leave before mobilisation began?
