pretty sure one dude won't end up overfishing.

Naturally. The issue arises if you teach too many people to fish.

And if everything tastes great, and you can eat everything, what's the point in eating anything but dirt, stone, and bark?

You're thinking too small. It's like Andres said. Everything tastes good but it's to different levels and in different ways. Dirt might taste like tasty bagels but if eating something like an apple tastes like extremely delicious apple pie, then you're going to want some variety. The fact that there are multiple cheap and common things to eat and that they taste good doesn't mean there aren't vastly more other amazing things to eat. Just think about how in real life, you'd be much happier with hundred or thousands of different types of tasty food than with just a couple dozen.

...Personally, actually, hundreds or thousands of types of foods would be a bit overwhelming. Over the course of years, perhaps, but maybe marble tastes different than granite. Perhaps red clay tastes different from white clay. Maybe uranium tastes different from snake venom.

I mean, it's not just about the "I want to eat tasty foods" aspect, it's also the "I am a biological processing plant" and the "I no longer have to consume food that everyone else needs more than I do/no longer have to spend money on typical foods"

You're clearly not thinking like a Gruen. :P

You don't need to try all the flavors any more than the average human needs to try all the foods available in real life. Sure you can limit yourself to just a few. Doesn't mean it's not a nice prospect that you can always try new flavors if you want to. I love trying new foods when I get the chance. Of course, I have certain types more than others and there are plenty I haven't tried because of taste preferences or availability of certain foods but there are other people in other locations that eat tons of food I've never tried. We're both capable of eating the same types of food though and that ability to be able to enjoy and live off many different diets is a good thing, not a bad thing in my opinion.

So we went from talking about different views of morality, to the idea of A.I as people and the effects it'll have on our lives, and now to a discussion on the philosophy of eating different kinds of food. Interesting, to say the least.

Wait a minute.

Does that mean some Gruen really like the taste of gold? I smell an opportunity.

Your smell is off. The gold would be better put to use as currency rather than food unless it's really, really, really top-quality food.

I'm still going to look into Gruen cults that worship Azem because they literally have expensive tastes.

So how does one increase the worship quality of their own creations?
Answering prayers goes a long way.

KI'Tork listens to Prayers.

"Hey,Muighoseph'aalaunw! What is it you need? I'd be glad to help as long as it's not destructive towards the Bubble, I'm fine with obnoxiousness though."

Azem also listens to prayers.

Melyssa listens to prayers too.

I also listen to prayers. It's been a while.

Fortuna

Listen to prayers

You fool! Look what you have done! Now poor KJP has to write a dozen prayers!

Raptil:
...
"We bought some floatstone, so it's not too hard to drop boulders on them"

Exactly how does this floatstone work? is it neutrally buoyant in air, or does it float upwards on its own? I want to know so that I can respond to my second prayer, mostly because dropping a floating rock won't have much effect. It would probably just float away.

I don't quite remember, but it is some kind of magic stone that flies when exposed to light. Or just flies. It is used in airships and things, and could probably be used as a weapon like he believes it can.
