[4 vs 9+5(Shield)+2(DEX)+1(Skill)] You try to stab him over the wall but your spear bounces uselessly off his shield.

Vander
The spearmage tries to get you from over the wall but you don't even have to move your shield to block it. You run around the wall to attack Delekates [3+2(DEX)+1(Skill vs 6+2(AGI) but she manages to sidestep your strike.

Turn 1: You cast a spell worth 5 mana. 10-5=5. When the turn ended, you gained 1 mana. 5+1-6.
Turn 2: You cast no spell. When the turn ended, you gained 1 mana. 6+1=7.

Sidestepping Vander's strike you follow up by firing off an Ice Spike at Vander (5 vs 7+5(Shield)+1(Skill), embedding itself in his shield!

Vander
Seeing the mage vulnerable after failing to get through your shield with an Ice Spike, you charge forward with your axe intending to do a lot of damage, [6+2(DEX)+1(Skill) vs 3+2(AGI)] [7] getting a solid cut through her breastplate, cutting her abdomen! Without the breastplate in the way you feel you could've spilled her guts with that attack.

((Greatshields are way overpowered. This is almost as bad as the Igor incident.))

New rule - It is possible for an attacking character to get behind a defender so long as they pass an AGI roll, giving them +3 versus the defender and +5 if the defender fails by more than 50.

This should help balance the greatshield. What Igor incident?

What Igor incident?
Igor the Invincible was my character in a similar arena deathmatch RTD. He had 20HP. Everyone else had 4. He also had +1 defense vs blunt weapons, everyone else had a blunt weapon. It was unfair.

I like the new backstab rule.

The problem is that the game is now biased towards agile characters. What if I make a rule that allows for an attacker to attempt to disarm their opponent, taking a -5 penalty when doing so and -3 when unarmed?
