Given that I have absolutely no idea who Mordin is, Motya is definitely not an expy of them. They are more or less an original character. _{Donut Steel.} I guess that they are vaguely based on the old mad scientist tropes, but that doesn't count for much. You only have so many scientist tropes to go around after all. They are very limited.
