Motya is a totally original character do not steal and they are from Earth. Or a version of Earth with more super robots and evil monsters at least. So good luck trying to fit that into your map.

I literally have like 15-20 Sols that all exist on the map... Anyone wanna rename their Sols?

(My advice, at least.)

Like, colors indicate general patches of probability, sectors are specific arrangements.

ENG Is from the Planetside universe. he is not from Sol. he is from Auraxis, which is in it's own little starsystem originally connected to Sol by a unstable wormhole.

This might be a good starting point.
You need two axes, really, for any map that will accurately reflect our earth-centric bias.  In this case, it would be hue and saturation.


I suggest hue being 'type of dissimilarity' and saturation being 'level of dissimilarity'.

Just do a Noise Map and fill it in as we move outward, Seems like that style of map both inhibits your ability to decide where we go next, and our ability to have more variety when moving short distances.

Or just have the colors have arbitrary meaning related to setting.

Yeah, that was like two minutes' worth.  I could probably do some sort of projection given time enough.  And yes, there doesn't have to by rhyme or reason, really.
