...Honestly, there was no place on the battlefield the Blaster could have gone to hit Gaster without hitting anyone else.

I just narrated what you wanted to do man. As I said, Gaster blasters are 3x3 so you would have hit an ally by throwing it.

As I stated before, they are 3x3. Therefor it is impossible to NOT hit your allies if you also want to hit Gaster.
