Meanwhile the plot will likely be driven by the couple's relationship drama alongside their interactions with the characters around them.

I mean considering the roots of this game, I'm sure that the combat system and plot are acceptable sacrifices for converting this into a sitcom. It's be a sort of back to basics move. With the basics being a sealed apocalyptic dragon and a ghostly magical girl bickering inside the head of a fantasy princess trapped in the modern world.
