Concider it this way. if their homes are destroyed, then what? what if there's nothing to go back to anymore? what if there won't be anything TO go back to if they don't stay?

Really, I think pretty much every character would probably want to go back (excluding some who obviously wouldn't care) and so I'm just going to ignore this happening so I can act like Ian wouldn't go right back home where he's in his element.

I mean, Eirika is essentially going back to another war (if a less REALLY FUCKING IMPORTANT one) with people she's known for only a year or so, which is not very long but still much longer than the Trespasser crew. So it could go either way. Plus she really, really really wants her Plegian clothes back.

Alanis just can't go back to the relatively mundane world after finding out that EVERYTHING IS REAL.  (for a given value of real at least)

It'd be torturous to know that all of that exists and not be able to go there.

Not to mention the goddess.

But even WITH no Trespassers...She wouldn't want to go.  There's too much to explore, to see.

(not to mention explaining how you're suddenly a girl, to everybody ever, is not an experience anyone would want to have.)
