Scan the area from the air with thermal mode (enhanced eyes).  Stay aware of any large groups forming.  Perhaps check large groups with x-ray to see if they are armed, if possible.  Keep an eye out for weapon caches.  Continue these scans while the shuttle moves to new areas.

Pilot the shuttle, doing a quick circuit and scan of the slums, and areas surrounding the slums.  Fly evasively, with the goal of making the shuttle a difficult target to hit.

Time (and GM patience) allowing, listen in to the Truth.

((Probably more edited in later.))
The slums are highly populated and a lot of people have gathered outside to listen to the broadcast, but there's no sign of any mass mobs forming, at least not for the moment. As per armed...hard to say from this high up. They're not much more then little blobs of heat.

For the moment it's best you follow the vet team, since your goal IS to protect them, after all. Breaking away and skimming the city would not be accomplishing that goal very well. But if you wanna do it, we can.

The broadcast is basically what you already heard. Just with a bit more background info.

poke head out, test if my wings can carry me and how much effort it takes to flap them, order draco to stand alert for anything suspicious (act like a guard dog basicaly)

hmm. How exactly do you want to do this? Like, stick one wing out and see how much lift it gets? Or jump out and try to fly?

Distribute socialist literature. To my non-union teammates, that is.

Also look outside, looking for a good place to build barricades, and good sources of barricade material.

You hand out some pamplets about the glorious worker's revolution.

As per barricade material, the vets haven't chosen a place to land, so it's a bit premature.

poke head out and see if I can see anything going on, are there large groups of people? Are they armed?

Well, the slums are highly populated so there's no doubt that there are large groups of people down there.  And they're no doubt armed, though with what it's hard to say. None of them seem to be hostile towards the ship, at least not yet.

Take literature.
You take a pamphlet.

Watch the ground.

You keep an eye on the teaming masses and the shanty town below.

look for patterns on the ground
On the natural ground of the island or in the shanty town? The shanty town has a few major streets, if you can call them that, but it is mostly just a cluttered mess.

Follow Blizzard's shuttle.

Craft some binoculars, if possible, and use it to briefly scan the crowds with x-ray mode to check for weaponry.

Keep watching for large groups.  Be prepared to make the shuttle dodge any incoming fire that our armor can't handle.

You stick a wing out. There's a lot of force on it from the wind moving past the shuttle. Probably not enough to fly, but maybe enough to glide.

Or at least descend slower.

Watch and wait.

The Thumb twiddling begins.  You know what they say, war is 9 parts waiting, 1 part bleeding out.

Craft binoculars with what, exactly? You just have 4 premade lenses to use sitting around in the cockpit?

Not that it matters, you can't physically look out of the cockpit anyways; you're in a metal capsule with cameras providing outside view.

look around for a tower or high point below the shuttle, check fuel in jump pods. See how much lift I can generate if I hook the exoskeleton arm part to the wings and try flapping my wings.

Follow Blizzard's shuttle.  Drop off Sir Jackson on a ridgetop near Blizzard's landing area.

Dodge any incoming fire that we can't just shrug off.

None as of now...  Should I strike through the dodging action?  Perhaps it's unnecessary.  I just figure it's always possible there may be some danger next turn.

The arm part of the exoskeleton doesn't fit well onto the wing, so what you'll more then likely end up creating is a broken wing and a short but fatal fall.

Waiting, part 3.
The waiting part 3 was good, but part 5, the revenge, was when the series really hit its stride.

Follow Blizzard's shuttle.  Drop off Sir Jackson on a ridgetop near Blizzard's landing area.

Dodge any incoming fire that we can't just shrug off.

You drop Jackson off, or at least hover down low so he can get off if he wants.

There's no fire coming in yet but the announcement finished a few minutes ago and thermal imaging is showing a lot of people moving around in the slums. Some gathering into quite large groups.
