So...

Carefully pry what you can see out of the mine with minimal vibration while floating on hoverboards (barely any Materials gained, but safe)
Restart Mining, get Material. (Steady Material flow again, but cause the burrowers to start appearing)
Ignore Mine. (Explain in post, please)

It's known as the Oppai-Kaiju effect. The islands of Japan generate a sort anti-gravity field, which allows breasts to behave as if in microgravity. It's also what allows Godzilla and friends to become 50 stories tall, and lets ninjas run up the side of a skyscraper.

You know the couches aren't going to go poof, right? You might end up clogging the entrance with couches.

I'm a strong advocate for making defensive lines of couches.

Name: Mr. Helpy
First Weapon choice: Futuristic Assault Rifle
Bio/History: A standard robotic assistant, designed for heavy lifting and precise measurements on command and autonomous packing and sorting. It was found amongst the Trader's equipment and retasked to work on Dome repairs. After it was decided that it would need to defend itself it was mounted with weapons and armour and its programming was made to incorporate code from automated turrets. Unfortunately, it has picked up a habit of shooting anything it measures, and it measures everything it operates upon. Until these bugs can be sorted out, it has been placed on guard duty and told to sort the doomy dooms. Hopefully its strength and armour will make up for a lack of dynamic thinking and agility.

Nope, unless you want to test whats left of you guys' luck by messing with the ships engines, which could lead to SRS PROBLEMOS.

(I've decided that for simplicties sake, the galactic government will be an Imperium, possible in name only.)

Incomplete list of what could happen when messing with Imperium-certified FTL engines with little to no knowledge of them (from the front of the manual about them):

DOOM (of various kinds, possibly interdimensional)
Planetary energy being sliced in two, creating a parallel universe anti-planet full of dark things that most likely will be aggressive (or light things if you somehow got a Imperium ship onto an evil planet)
Spontaneous black holes
Transformation into spaghetti-people.
Being Polymorphed into something that may or may not have a brain.
Other polymorphings not covered by the GFOAB free/minimum charge reversal policy.
Unexpected Smiting/Disintegration (in rare cases where there is a god that said dead being angered)
Portals of dubious stability.
Unexpected Food items, like Cakes.

(there is 3 references in that list, btw. guess them all right and get a cookie)
