Elona+? Is the wiki up to date or is there a changelog somewhere?

The normal elona wiki has several pages on elona+ stuff, it's far from complete but it's got enough to be handy.

Well, I haven't completed the first one and don't plan on starting all over again, so doesn't really matter.

(Do I have the way the levels work wrong? Does the game expect me to be level 600 or something for the 666 fortresses?)

I should hope you aren't trying to get to level 600 for those dungeons. It would be helpful to note that the forts of Chaos are single floor dungeons consisting of a corridor leading to where the boss is at.

http://elona.wikia.com/wiki/Dungeons

Remember, your main progression in Elona is not levels, it's stats, skills, and equipment. Levels are mainly a pain-they bring a little boost to HP, MP, and allow you to pick a few new feats-but they also bring in stronger and stronger monsters, and leveling up does not at all mean your stats have gone up. It's not that you don't EVER want to get levels - they're inevitable - but you don't want to measure your progress by them. Think of them more as markers of how long you've been playing.

Wait....Is there a way to send your heirlooms over from Elona to Elona+? That might be worth it.

Well, I finally beat the main story.
Spoiler: Pics so it did happen (click to show/hide)
So now I'll go to South Tyris despite being super weak. Most of the damage on Zeome came from my <blade omega> making him bleed, with the final "hit" being an overcast suicide. I'm only level 33!! I'm going to get owned so much!!!! AAAAAAA

Be sure to bring along that nifty Zeon-re-engineered Gundam, Diry. :D

Opinions on Elona+? I liked a lot about Elona, but eventually it seemed that 95% of gameplay became about grinding quests for platinum. Glancing through the change notes I don't see any major redesigns. Looks like mostly new classes/races/areas and some balance changes.

Elona+ is Elona on steroids. If you liked Elona, you'll love Elona+. If you didn't like Elona, you won't like Elona+.

Elona+ is definitely an improvement but I dunno if it's an improvement in the way you're looking for.

Platinum is still a bottleneck, and while the new skills from certain waypoints of progress in other skills help in midgame, early game you're still pretty helpless, making dungeons a gamble. With that said doing really low level dungeons starting out is still possible (and in fact it seems a bit easier, maybe they lowered the monster level variation, I'm not seeing nearly as many say, elemental hounds or whatever in low level dungeons. Also of note is the new god, Yactat of wealth, who gives platinum for jewelery, so that helps alleviate the platinum issue a bit, if you aren't terribly attached to a particular god already (opatos 4 lyfe). I've never used him so I dunno how much it helps.

I'm remotely interested in this game.
I don't really like anime or manga, but this looks seminteresting.
Would you guys suggest it, and if so where should I go to learn how to play.

I'll say this, Elona is less about being anime and more about being crazy go nuts. I haven't watched an anime since gurren lagaan and I still didn't feel like I was missing out. One of the classes shares the name with a manga, and even then it works on it's own (claymore). As far as learning to play, don't be afraid to fall back on notice board requests if you're having issues with dungeons, and don't feel bad for not finishing the main plot, it's pretty nuts. Also just because it's not permadeath doesn't mean you shouldn't die, losing stats without gaining potential is a pretty big deal.

The cash loss from death is pretty significant too. Never be afraid to run for your life. Always have some kind of teleportation handy, be it scrolls, rods, the actual teleportation spell, or the Dimensional Move ability.

I should write a feats guide sometime...

E: Also, what god(dess, I suppose) would you guys pick, Lulwy or Yacatect? Speed is always nice and the black angel seems pretty okay, but I like money too. I'm having a tough time deciding between being really fast and being really rich. At least the choices are narrowed down to only those two: I've already gotten all rewards from Opatos, Mani, Jure, and Itzpalt, and I'm definitely never going to need Kumiromi or Ehekatl.
