Duke that building is amazing. But how did you make the bed?

This is probably a bad place to post this, but does Steam take forms of payment other than Paypal?

I could have sworn it takes direct credit/debit OR google's checkout thing, one of those, I swear I just can't remember which. Maybe both. I could be wrong though.

Bed is made with silk (made from cobwebs) and wood I think.

fffff so many character customization options

Would be nice if Terraria devs choose to take Notch's approach and maybe make an update to the game once in a while perhaps. Or just patches in general, even without features. I bet they'll do that but I can't be sure.

But... How do you get in?  :o Or is there some logic on how doors work that I could only know by playing?

Dig out and replace the blocking, uh, block. There's less obtrusive ways of zombie proofing, but none of them's really viable until you get some accessories/items. Once you've got ways of getting extra air, you can just move your entrance further off the ground than they can jump :P

As for the update thing, the Terraria dudes have stated they're hoping for weekly/biweekly stuff for... a while. That's after the initial push to get things like servers and steamworks and junk working.

E: Servers work, just more clumsily than they want them to at the moment.

Actually, here's an incredibly practical AND cheap way of total zombie proofing:

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

The platform prevents the door swinging inwards, which means that anyone but the player can't open it from the opposite side.
Good for NPC traps too I guess.

And for a player to open it, he just needs to face the other way while opening.

I will make a megaproject of my life. Honestly, there could be no better game for it than Terraria, especially that it's a pixelized sprite 2D platformer.

I present you...

Spoiler: Terravania! (click to show/hide)

I used mspaint so you know, crappy quality :P But it's best for pixel = block ratio.

Aboveground:
From entrance (at the left): Ball Room, Library, Observation Tower; Main block (from bottom): Chapel, Dracula's Suite, Throne Room; Right Block: Some random tower, Garden, Clock Tower, Garden pt.2;
Underground:
Again from the left: Underground Reservoir, Arena of Pain, Treasury (complete with heaps of gold bars!), Trapped Corridors.

From left to right it's 181 blocks, from top of Throne room to bottom of the map: 195 blocks.

It will be complete with treasure chests, that will contain gold, armor pieces and some rare items. The artifacts I will include will be Cloud in the Bottle (double jump, needed to get in many areas), Breathing Reed (or you will drown in Reservoir) and Lucky Horseshoe (to get to two certain places). Also propably some 'rare' weaponry that you can find in dungeon/underground or high-tier craftables as reward for all those future Belmonts :P

The thing will need a massive amount of stone blocks, and wooden platforms. Then copper, silver and golden block walls for decor and some furniture as well - try to count the amount of doors :P

The project will sure be changed a lot - for example I want to stuff something below Dracula's suite. Maybe a small treasure room with demonite equipment?

I'm worried about Spikes - there's a lot of them included in the project, especially in Clock Tower. Do anyone knows if the dungeon spikes can be demolished and grabbed with you (please say yes)?

FFFFFFf.

Looks like they've got some bugs to sort out. Such as how the game crashes for me every time I exit the settings menu when not actually playing. Otherwise runs for so far as I've seen.

Huh. The zombies don't just jump over it?

Anyway, another fun thing to do with zombie-proofing is this:
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

The back would either be a door or leading off to a corridor, perhaps with a mirror'd construction on the other side. You can swing and hit zombies from inside, but they can't get to you. Perfect for farming blood moon zombie swarms. The eyes are a bit more complicated to deal with, though...

This was made to show the style, actually. Obviously, it's to be used in a house or something like that.

...

Though no, they don't jump across. Seems their AI favours knocking on doors over actual pathfinding.

Holy dang I could play this game for hours. Construction is awesome- what with the number of things you have to put down for crafting, every spawn-house kinda takes on its own character. Mine is just a 5x16 stone hut and I still find it aesthetically pleasing. :D
