i think the requirements listed were for single-player

That's just the thing though: I have 1GB of RAM and a 1.6GHZ CPU and the first one gets up to 70%-80% usage and the second one 100% after about 30-40 minutes of play, on single player, even when nothing else is open except the game. So that's 700-800+ MB of RAM (as opposed to the requirement of 512MB) when I check the process manager. Very weird. I think I'm gonna wait till the patch.

Yes. There is no reason for it to be doing this thing. Weird enough, sometimes I'll play for 30 minutes and it'll be fine (in the 400MB-600MB RAM range as opposed to 700+), sometimes not. I think it's very likely a leak.

Using my Uber leet eyesight, I say that is a stone walled house with stone blocks making the frame.

The plants spawn from clay pots you make from 6 clay blocks. I've been making sure to put at least one in every room :)

But yeah, it's not exactly a pretty house... thing. I've determined underground building in the first (dirt) layer is kinda' fugly, due to that line around the edges. Comes from having interacting background tiles, which... currently don't. Interact. At all. It's better looking once you hit the next layer down and you've got something besides open sky making up the background.

Good for telling the time of day while I'm around the merchant, though.

Look in the top right.

There is a progress thing there.

When it starts loading its best to stand still.

Oh and also, last question, does anyone more tech savvy know if terraria uses a pixel shader 2.0?

From what I understand chances are slim but that particular bit of software has ruined me before.

server uses about 300mb ram (with 8 players)
client uses 100mb

running both is taking about 90% of my cpu
2.33ghz quadcore
it's a vanilla core and motherboard it's burning quite hot at 60~70 celcius

using less than 1% bandwidth on 100mbps connection. very little to no lag (for me).

Quote from: Steam Requirtments Info
## Video Card: 128mb Video Memory, capable of Shader Model 1.1

Also

E: Chest had magic mirror :D

I think your problem there is that the blocks you've placed fall in the middle of the "wall" tiles, rather than where they meet. If you make your room wider by 1 block on each side, and higher/lower by 1, it should cover the "cracks".

Although I'm not positive.

Nah, that's just how non-identical wall tiles interact, in any situation. It's harder to notice when you're dealing with, say, dungeon or brick back walls, as they're more flush, but stuff like dirt and stone with that little gap border makes it really noticeable. Probably a thing-that-will-be-fixed, eventually.

E: Wait. Yes, putting blocks will cover up the cracks. I just don't like doing that, heh.

EDIT2: There was another chest within viewing distance. It also had a magic mirror :-\

And dynamite :P

EDIT3: !!! There was a third chest, within view of the second chest. That chest, had flippers! Huzzah!

Assuming shader model is specifically a pixel shader, I'm good then!

Thanks again.
