What's the recommended room size for attracting NPCs (so I know if I need to rework my blueprints)?

Also, I don't actually have the game yet, but I should be getting it this evening.

In my experience, size affects how quickly the NPCs move in/respawn.  A tiny shack of wood took a couple in-game days to attract a merchant (yes, I had enough silver from when I started timing).  On the other hand, reconverting a floating island ruin into a home attracted the dryad within 30 seconds of furnishing it.

I genned my first world and I'm surrounded on both sides by corruption, I spawned in a desert too.

Has anyone created what I call "Cobweb landings" yet?

It is a good way to have a tunnel go straight down without getting hurt.

The only other way is to use platforms I guess.

For a Merchant you need at least 50 silver in your inventory (not sure if chests count).

It can take a while though. So don't be surprised if your waiting quite some time for him to move in.

To have a building capable of being moved into it needs a Table, Chair, Lightsource, and needs to be filled in with walls.

Also... I wish Glass had a wall. I wanted to make a Green house...

I only ask because Demonite, and meteorite, are actually much easier to get your hands on then gold.

The game seems pretty awesome so far. I got annoyed at dying to slimes every few minutes at the beginning, but it's better after getting heart crystals and a band of regeneration.
