Any suggestions for what to do next? Yes, that's the ocean. Flooding the underworld seems like the obvious choice

Interesting observation, though. There's stuff beyond the border of the map, you just can't see it or move toward it. You can actually mine it, though, and stuff will spawn 'offscreen'. Slimes come from the bottom of the ocean, hrm. Mutant jellyfish?

So guys how do I stop meteor heads killing me? I've found where the meteor landed but there appears to be no meteor there.

Also can I use dynamite to mine it quickly? :>

I use PBat's method to mine meteors. Gather them in front of you and mine it while they're hitting you. I haven't tried using dynamite to mine it. I need to try it.

It works very well, just got 87 meteorite from from dynamite. Just gotta find that damn meteorite now

Yup. I actually built a line of air pockets that way, leading down until I hit the deepest part.

I bet you wish you had flippers.

I do have flippers

It's just quicker to make your own air pockets than swim up to the surface, once you get deep enough. Plus, it takes less air to get back to where you're digging than slowly sinking your way from the surface of the water.

I should start doing that. Now that I can mine into orbs without powder or explosives, I need a good use for my dynamite.

Eventually I'm going to have every natural surface covered in spikes. The wooden blocks that are serving as platforms aren't exactly well-placed, and I plan to fix them later. At the bottom of the last image is the entrance I blasted to the underworld.

Are you going to device a method, most likely using water going over pressure plates, to push the dryad into magma?

You stop them by mining out most/all of it.

To stop them, you need to mine most of the meteorite. I don't know how much of it, but you need to mine A LOT of it.

Edit: Found the underground jungle earlier today when I had no gear and trying to find it again with my new phaseblade. Just found an enchanted boomerang so gotta find some hellstone now too.

No, the meteor heads exist for two reasons.
1. To try and force you into playing with a friend, so one person mines while the other fights.
2. To remind you that you take balls to the face.

I think there's a threshold of minimum number of meteorite onscreen to be considered a meteor biome. You could in theory build a meteor head farm to let you get unlimited meteorite.

From my little research and observations, there must be less than 15-12 meteorite chunks in the crash site to stop them from spawning.
