I'm mildly proud of my 2008 status, even if it was post 2D. Heck, given how long DF development may continue for into the future, and how much more famous it might well become than it is now, at some point everybody on these forums now will become old-timers.  :o

Started playing in Feb 2010. I registered about a week before DF2010 came out. That was certainly an interesting experience, watching everyone flip their collective shit.

I started playing about six months before the test releases for the new release of the game first came out. When carp were strong, elephants feared, and Mer people used as jewelry.

So not too much has changed, really. I still get killed by carp. All kinds of messed up critters wander into my forts. Had a damn gazelle wander in and kick the crap out of half my population a few months back.

Ah, I love this game.

Been lurking (clearly not posting) and playing Dorf since the good old day of 2d.  I remember when Boatmurdered happened.  I also remember learning how to play without much of a wiki to rely on. You new kids have it too easy.

Can't believe how many people with 1500+ posts are newer to the forums than I am.

Started playing back in the mists of the 2D builds, lurked for a couple of years, only started really posting a year or so ago. Moved almost entirely down to the lower forums these days.

We're not forgotten, you just haven't spoken with enough towns people to hear about all the new members who were sent our way after asking for quests, or how we tossed them by their third finger, right hand into a wall, causing them to explode on impact.

I remember Boatmurdered. I've been here awhile, though not one of the oldest. And I never post, lurking is more my thing

Who else remembers the feeling of relief when that first blacksmith came across the border, anvil in tow?
