Kinda. Using a mouse, but Photoshop handles all the grunt work re: shading and lighting. It's some bizarre middle ground between using a 3D rendering program and doing an actual painting, with far less practice required than either of those.

I was actually satisfied with a Pathfinder character I made, so I just had to make a sprite for him.
Presenting the Aasimar-Fighter-I'm-Currently-Calling-"The Unbreakable"-While-I-Think-Of-A-Name-For-Him.

Animation test in progress. Not quite as well as I hope, the looping effect came out all wrong, but not bad for a first try I suppose.

I don't know what that is, and it's fairly creepy. Good art, though. There are some decent non-web-based GIF creators you should try out.

Honestly, I would have just used GIMP or some other program like it what with having drawing and animating built in.
