So I built another something:

Those are four Stone Sense views:

Yellow is tetrahedrite, black is obsidian, gray is diorite, dark blue is cobaltite, ligth blue is adamantine. This statue is 80 tiles high and 68x66 tiles wide. Dwarves were building it for 47.5 years, it was a tough quest because

There were only 22 dwarves living in the fort, there were no migrants and my dwarves refused to breed. 3 female human mercenaries also joined but they refused to work (they eventually became legendary speakers), so the whole structure was built by those 22. Only 14 of them survived to the end: 4 fell from stairs, 2 failed strange moods and went crazy, 1 was killed by magma crab, 1 died because infected minor wound. Also one dwarf was horribly injured by a donkey whom he tried to geld, but survived.
Because this fort is small, there were only 2 goblin invasions. I filmed the first one:

And that's what happened to a goblin who broke through:

There were a minor chincillasplosion:

Dwarves built a minecart-based impulse generator, 4 water-powered invertors transferring ON signals to OFFs (the track appears to be a bit weird, it's because it was not obvious how long it should be and where to place pressure plates):

And then comes the first engineering feature of this fort - four blinking colored ellipses made from retractable stone bridges (this gif and all following gifs have realtime speed as if FPS=100):

I wanted ellipses to blink sequentually after constant amounts of time, not fully succeeded but not failed either.
Then dwarves added hematite squares that slowly collapse to a dot as ellipses get higher:

Sometimes it doesn't work as planned:

Then dwarves built a big magma cannon. That's its main reservoire:

That's main level of cannon, there are 255 pumps (I didn't plan to get a round number, it's a random coincidence):

It disappoints me. I believed in this (
http://www.bay12forums.com/smf/index.php?topic=72410.msg1777402#msg1777402 ) numbers, but it's not true, fireballs are way not so epic. I suggested that 100 ticks are too short time to create a decent fireball, no, it's not true:

I made a little science. 255 pumps spill out 108 cubic tiles of magma at first tick, 122 pumps - 73 cubic tiles, 64 pumps - 32 cubic tiles. I couldn't imagine a formula describing those values.
Then I decided to upgrade this cannon to 522 pumps. Dwarves built 3 more levels of the same design:

And then:

41 cubic tile, surprisingly low. The reason is that there's not enough magma to feed such a huge cannon, it cannot reload properly, it's impossible to fill its reservoires beyond those limits, numbers stabilize, don't grow further:

And finally few Armok Vision screenshots. Outer view:
