You make your way outside your cryo-room. Down the hall, you go, and into the command center. Here are four of yours squadmates,
Anthus,
Rivel,
Denerius, and
Isho. The captain is speaking mid-way, as you approach and salute him.
"At ease, Specialist Jones. We just wanted to brief you on the situation on Earth, and what it's looking like" the captain says as your squadmates nod at you reassuringly, keeping faith in your abilities.
Anthus begins to speak, "We've received word that the trip will take approximately 7 days through subspace. The construction vessel in orbit has built about one fifth of the research station, which will give us much more insight once it's complete."
Rivel interjects, "But, Brandon, it seems there's still radio signals coming for isolated pockets on the surface. The captain-"
You and Rivel are interrupted, as the captain promptly pulls up a display of the map of earth, and appropiate labels.
"Yes, this is what we've gathered from our surveys and mid-construction of the science station. There seems to be unidentified signals from moscow-they had built a large survival area into their metro, state of the art before the bombs hit. However, we have no intelligence on if there are shadow council remnants in this area. Danger is to be considered-A preliminary scout probe made it to paris, and found a colony of civilians. They could use our assistance in aid. Food, munitions, and support will guarantee our reclamation of the area..However, we want to avoid a war between them and the surviving metro Russians."
Denerius speaks, "But..there's more unidentified signals. One coming from peru, and another from washington, DC. We want to make contact with any surviving elements and support them. In hopes of uniting them before terraforming one day, maybe hundreds of years from now, is complete. This is going to be the largest mission since the war ended, and I want you men to be on your toes. You'll be doing light recon, and aerial surveillance. Possible drop-shock pod dropping is in the area for us as well, depending on the Area of Operations, or our AO."
Isho, finally, pipes up, "I say we go with the safest option first. Paris."
The rest are undecided.
How do you respond, and what do you have to say?
