Jam a door with its corpse and let all the goblins in. Hey, nobody said it had to be a weapon against your enemies.

I got an artifact adamantine crossbow once.
It would have made The Heavy weep manly tears of awe and respect, because it puts Sasha and even the Brass Beast to shame. It was like inventing Laser Rifles and Lightsabers simultaneously and then duct taping them together, because it still packed a decent punch in melee... even though it was about as heavy as a styrofoam cup. Artifacts are just boss like that  :P

A mace that menaces with spikes of lama WOOL. Gotta love when that stuff happens.

Are artifact mechanisms any good? If they make traps work better or something then this might be one of my most useful ones so far, an artifact mechanism with 10 masterwork glass discs would shred any titans that came after me.

That should be a new type of project, making a rug design in dwarf fortress (With accurate coloring)

Mechanism quality effectively stands in for "skill" in weapon traps. Have fun :)

Wait, so if it was a dwarf, it would be one with legendary +5 combat skills, compared to a peasant (regular mechanism) who doesn't know the right end of a sword? oh sweet, this is going in with my artifact iron spiked ball and some glass discs =)

Mechanism quality counts in weapon traps.  Have fun.

(Also counts for admiring, if you're going to put a level in a public place/bedroom.)

Have you modded in war-bears?
Have your military commander charge into battle wielding that, and flanked by a dozen war grizzly bears.

I'm pretty sure grizzlies have always been trainable, so no modding required. It would be cooler if he could ride one of the bears, but oh well.
