Good luck though.
But hey, maybe the Emperor will be with you... because it's either Him or... Sly Marbo.

Absolutely the hero we need, not the one we deserve.

That Skyray has put on quite the shameful display. Never even launched those three missiles. I am disappoint in you, commander.

Also disappoint in fanbots. Not enough tau art that doesn't involve half-naked gue'vesa'la.
Seriously how difficult is it to find a goddamn tau art piece that has them victorious after a battle, not just in the thick of close combat.
Why is all their art of them being in terrible combat situations that they would never want to get into and favor literally every other army but them when their biggest strength is their maneuvering and preventing said situations from happening

Goddamnit fanbots

Well, most artists have a grain of common sense and usually don't depict scenarios that make no sense and are utterly impossible, unless it's porn, of course. :)

Clearly those *are* Gue'Vesa who are guarding the fallen Skyray!
Now they just need to get half-naked

I don't know about that, there's plenty of the Emperor getting back up

Though I suppose the Sisters of Battle encourage certain forms of art.

Seeing as those things are artillery, not front-live tanks, it was probbably taken out by counterbattery fire. as the hatch is open and it's basically unharmed, it could also have been abandoned or the crew killed in a retreat.

I'm not certain how you counterbattery something that fires guided missiles.

Also not certain why the crew would've abandoned it, though it is crashed, so they probably had to. Not sure why they didn't scuttle or booby trap it, though. Imperium never really reverse engineers their enemy's tech if they can keep the Mechanicus away, tho, and Skyrays are common enough that maybe it wouldn't help anyway.

And yes you do, Kot. Gue'la are ignorant, not (usually stupid. :P

I wonder if ratlings would be willing to join the Greater Good if a world the Tau grabbed had some. Ogryn probably wouldn't, but ratlings seem a bit more flexible.

As if tau fetishists wouldn't get a boner from that.

You go "A bunch of missiles came from grid-square LL5367-266378, open fire with six thousand artillery pieces for 30 minutes and if more missiles show up bomb then some more".
It's most telling however that no missiles appear to have been fired, meaning that it was clearly knocked out or the crew killed outside it in a surprise attack, as time was taken to re supply it but it never got a chance to fire.

My best guess is that an artillery shell landed on the crew while they were eating, and it wasn't salvaged because of the following Imperial counterattack that led to those Guard sitting on it.
