I'm sorry, but shouldn't a sawn-off shotgun use regular shotgun shells.  It's not the shells that got sawn off, its the barrel.
It's like how Assault Rifle clips work for the M-16, the M-4, and the AR-15.

It should, but the ammo system in LCS is fucked. Shotgun shells hold 8 rounds, so the Sawn-Off Shotgun would also hold 8 rounds if it shared ammo with the shotgun. The ammo system is based on "clips," none of which are interchangeable as far as I know. Ammo capacities are defined not by the weapon, but by the "clips" themselves.

It's like how the 9mm Pistol and 9mm SMG (The MP5) don't share bullets, despite both of them firing the same round.

Belatedly, I don't know how viable this is, but perhaps an ammo combination/division mechanic could be implemented.

2x 9mm Pistol mag (15 rounds) = 1x 9mm SMG mag (30 rounds)
4x Sawed-off Shotgun "clip" (2 rounds) = 1x Shotgun "clip" (8 rounds)

And viceversa.

Would be nice. My modding knowledge is only related to editing xml files, though. I don't know any C++ or C# or whatever LCS uses for the "real" stuff.

Not sure on everything but XML

XML files are in the "art" folder"

Been a while since the last update due to things like college and my interest shifting to other games like New Vegas, but I've got something planned for the future: Entrenching tools (spades) as a new melee weapon.

Needs a separate, Stalinist opinion  :P

Stalinist failure: Violators who do not conform to safety protocols are deemed traitors to our Glorious Nation and face immediate deportation or execution by paramilitary gangs.

Is there really a Stalinist ending though? I see a track in the ogg music folder for it, or is that used for something else?

Stalinist ending requires disbanding the LCS and idling for a few decades + enabling it on versions of LCS that implement it, however half-baked and half-finished it is. It'll replace the "Reaganified" ending you get for disband/waiting for several decades.

Arch-conservative: Wearing a mask gets you shot on sight. Masks are a Chinese Communist plot according to the Conservatives!

Also at Elite Liberal, the Firemen should come back but instead of burning books, they burn alive anyone who's infected.

Small update. P90 uses separate magazines from the FN Five SeveN now. It won't share ammo with the FN 5.7, but it's got 50 rounds of ass-kicking.

Some guns are already implemented in the shops, so you don't have to loot them off dead Conservatives. According to my notes, these are sold at the Pawnshop.

WEAPONS:
MAC-10
TEC-9
Tommy Gun
PPSH
Sawn-off
M14
Brass Knuckles
Spiked Knuckles
Tomahawk

CLIPS:
Battle Rifle (M14)
Sawn-off Shells (Sawn-off Shotgun)
Shotgun Drum (AA-12)

iam using latest github lcs version 4.12.56 but in a multiple cities map i wont get all weapons at the stores :( is this not supported?

actually i belive they are not availab le bec of legality value? depends on game i guess?

i only get the new weapons from start if i choose nightmare mode along with anything else like cities for example

I haven't worked on the mod in a while, but I think some weapons haven't been added to the stores yet. In the game files, weapons have to be listed in the pawn shop, department store, arms dealer (Gangsters and Mercs), or Oubliette before you can buy them.

Even if those weapons are implemented and listed in the stores, they may not be available due to legality. In my mod, gangsters and mercenaries should sell weapons regardless of legality, but only if I've added them to the armsdealer.xml file. Nevermind, I haven't done that yet.

I do not know about multiple cities mode, since it is unfinished and buggy (IIRC) so I don't play it.

I've been meaning to keep working on this mod, but I've been addicted to Fallout: New Vegas recently and I've got college back in session.

This is probably not the best place to snipe this guy, also we should make sure we have the right guy so we don't have to shoot all the old beard men if he isn't the right one.

I say we watch the party a little longer and see if we can see anyone else that matches the target description, and if we don't see anyone we go after where we saw this guy go.

Too many witnesses. Sniping who you only suspect is Lumbago Joe would be a bad idea, considering how these guys would gladly perform an armed citizen's arrest on you once they realized your true intentions. You've got to watch the party a little bit more.

+1 though our cover is pigeon hunting. Shoot some pigeons to maintain cover while doing the above actions

To maintain your cover, you look for some birds in the direction of Lumbago Joe's house and take a few shots at them. Continuing to spectate the house, you pay special attention to all the men sitting in chairs outside.

You see one man with an eyepatch over his eye, but he is neither old nor bearded. A bearded old man wearing sunglasses is walking around, and he keeps tapping his cane on the floor. Another old man, with a scar running over what appears to be a glass eye, but no beard, is playing cards.

The children continue playing games with each other, playing tag and running in circles. Some joggers pass by Lumbago Joe’s house, giving a friendly wave to the children as they pass by. You cannot tell if the old man in sunglasses has only one eye or not. He might be blind, considering how he keeps tapping a cane on the floor to check for obstructions around him.

Got a question because I'm not sure on where to go with this mod:

How should weapons and ammo be handled? Genericized guns and ammo keeps down on the clutter and makes the mod more accessible to non-gun enthusiasts. Non-genericized guns and ammo, on the other hand, is more realistic, but less accessible.
Having to sort through tons and tons of different 7.62 calibers just to find the right one for your AK (7.62x39) or your SVD (7.62x54) or your FN FAL (7.62x51) for example? That's very cluttered and un-fun.

Just gotta say, mad props for making all these maps. This game would be impossible to figure out if you didn't make em. Thanks Taberone.

Get the silencer for the Mini-14 rifle. Scout out from on top of the gun store.

You purchase the makeshift suppressor for your Mini-14 rifle, losing $100 in exchange. Making your way to the back of Traitor Joe's, you find a ladder leading to the roof and hear activity coming from it.

Climbing up the ladder, you find several chairs and bottles of booze strewn about, with some drunken men laughing. A handful of them are firing off suppressed rifles at a nearby flock of birds, killing some of them.

"Hey, man." One of the men stumbles up to you. "Here for some pigeon hunting?"

"Yea." You lie.

While the rest of the men shoot every last pigeon in sight, you scan Lumbago Joe's house from the rooftop. You see an aged, bearded man with a hat covering his head as he walks away from Lumbago Joe's house, a wallet full of money in his hands. Is that Lumbago Joe? you can't see if he has one eye or not. Plenty of bearded, middle-to-old aged men in this area. He seems to be heading towards Complex #2, where the Small Store is.

You probably could just shoot him right now with all the suppressed gunfire and noisy fireworks going off just to be sure, but you're still not 100% sure if it's Lumbago Joe or not. Plus, you've got a lot of witnesses on the roof with you. Most of them are drunk, but the few that aren't are keeping an eye out on everyone else.

You are a bad-ass robot. Choose 8 cool weapons or abilities. (suggestion game)

1) Big Eater: Can devour and digest anything as material or an energy source, as long as it fits in your mouth.

2) 3D Printer: Can 3D Print anything. Requires materials to be able to print.

3) Spider Legs: You have 8 legs and can walk on walls or ceilings like a real spider.

4) Pacification Module: Can play calming music in order to pacify aggressive enemies.

5) Integrated Plasma Cannon: Fires a glob of slow-moving plasma that explodes upon contact and burns enemies alive. Requires energy to fire. Difficult to use against distant or fast-moving targets.

6) Auto-Surgery Module: Can perform surgery on humans.

7) Voice Module: Can talk to humans, but with an electronic-sounding voice.

8) Quadruple Arms: You have four robotic arms attached to you, making for great flexibility in usage of tools or weapons.

Before we commit to a plan lets go see what's for sale at The Shady Back Alley™.

Going into the Shady Back Alley™, you see a lineup of vans parked against the walls. Other buyers ignore you as they make deals with the sellers, purchasing items ranging from bootleg CDs, pirated movies, tax-free cigarettes, and hand grenades. Whatever you can think of, they’ve probably got for sale… If you can afford it.

Wishing to purchase an oil filter suppressor, you find the seller in the Shady Back Alley™ who was selling it. It'll cost you $100 for the oil filter suppressor and the necessary threading to use it. The seller informs you that this is a bargain, because real suppressors cost over $200 minimum.

The oil filter suppressor will only last at least half a dozen rounds before it wears out, and will maybe last a dozen shots if you're lucky. The oil filter suppressor will also foul up your gun as you fire it, and will make it harder to aim due to obscuring the iron sights.

Your scoped Mini-14 will be least affected by the aiming penalty, because you can use the scope instead of iron sights. The seller also offers oil filter suppressors (and necessary threadings) for pistols, submachine guns, and shotguns. Oil filter suppressors cannot be interchanged with other guns unless they also have the necessary threading.

+1, I’m curious if, after the mission, we could go by Courier aspr9ngs and check out those lights

Remind me about this after the mission is done, I guess.

Let's buy the best scope we can for our rifle, if at all possible. And a stand it can rest on, for easier sniping.

Once we get that, let's go to that neighbourhood, find a secluded spot, and spy on this birthday party using the scope.

+1, I’m curious if, after the mission, we could go by Courier aspr9ngs and check out those lights
+1 If we can still buy stuff I think we should get a few flashbangs as those things saved us in the last mission.

--- MISSION PREP ---

A few flashbangs, one 4x rifle scope, and a bipod later, you're left with $210.58 in money and a customized Mini-14. 5.56x45 may not be adequate enough for hunting deer, depending on who you ask, but 5.56x45 sure is adequate enough for hunting men.

Concealment of your Mini-14 might be an issue. The area where Lumbago Joe lives does have a gunstore nearby, though, so you may be able to defuse any suspicious bystanders by claiming to be going to the firing range or claiming to be going hunting. You do just that when you call a rideshare service and assure the driver that you're going hunting, and arrive in the plaza near Lumbago Joe's house.

--- MISSION START ---

It's a sunny day over 73rd Yorktown Street. The birds are chirping, the sun is shining, the rose gardens smell lovely today, all that crap. In the land of the blind, a one-eyed man like Lumbago Joe would be king. But you've got two eyes and a .45, and all he has is diabetes and cataracts, most likely. You hear the sounds of a birthday party on Lumbago Joe's front lawn and an excited child crying "Mommy! Mommy! Look at me go!" as you step out into the plaza. From the plaza, you see several buildings, and have a clear line of sight to Lumbago Joe's house.

--- NORTH: THE TARGET'S HOUSE ---

On the front driveway of Lumbago Joe's house, several men are sitting in a half-circle of chairs and drinking alcohol by a barbecue. Several other children in the front yard run around in circles playing various games with each other, ranging from tag to kickball.

A busy playground lies next to Lumbago Joe's house, filled with excited children using swingsets and sandboxes as their parents supervise them. A closed shed lies in the corner of the playground.

Closer to you are two complexes containing a variety of functions, ranging from apartments to businesses. Both complexes have attics with windows on the upper floors, but only Complex #1 has access to a rooftop. A sky-light connects both complexes to each other.

--- WEST: SHADY BACK ALLEY ---

To the west is a parking lot, a cafe, and a Shady Back Alley™ where men in vans full of unknown goods of dubious legality are hanging out. Some buyers are exchanging money for black market goods, while others are trying to fundraise for someone's funeral expenses.

You think you see one of the buyers purchasing what appears to be an oil filter and attaching it over his gun. Looks like an improvised suppressor, but the size of that thing is clearly blocking his iron sights. Might be cheaper than buying an actual suppressor from the gunstore, too.

--- EAST: NEIGHBORS, POLICE STATION ---

To the east is a gun store (with roof access via a ladder in the back), where muffled gunfire rings out from the shooting range. Lumbago Joe's neighbors and a police station are further to the east, and one of Lumbago Joe's neighbors, an older man, is sitting out on the porch with a rifle in his lap and a bottle of whiskey in his arms.

A warning sign titled "TRESPASSERS WILL BE SHOT! SURVIVORS WILL BE SHOT AGAIN!" is sticking out of the older man's front yard. You notice that the older man sitting on his porch is watching his sons carefully, who are setting off massive fireworks that give off an even bigger bang.

Other signs can be seen on the rest of the front yards, promoting local gun clubs and even militias. Other neighbors are out on their front lawns, some with rifles slung over their shoulders, and observing the fireworks display.

Further to the east is a police station, all the way in the distance. Response times will be quick if someone calls 911, so keep an escape route in mind for when you perform the hit on Lumbago Joe. Watch out for the neighbors if you cause any trouble.

--- SOUTH: BREWERY, OFFICES, EXIT ZONE---

To the south is a brewery, which is closed for the day. Sunlight pours through the windows of the brewery, with not a single sign of life behind those windows.

An office building is also to the south, which isn't too occupied. There are only a fraction of the workers you'd expect of such an office being present inside.

Further to the south is Street C, where cars come and go, and the "Exit Zone" where you can make your escape after killing Lumbago Joe.

--- DECISION TIME ---

This is one busy plaza. The upper floors of any multi-floor building should be secluded enough to observe Lumbago Joe's house more carefully, but where? Should you use the Gun Store or Shady Back Alley to stock up on any more supplies you need, such as suppressors to muffle the noise of your gunfire? Or could you time your gunshots so that they are obscured by the massive fireworks going off overhead?

You'll need to identify Lumbago Joe too. Plenty of these residents are older men with beards, but none of them have only one eye. Finding somewhere to set up overwatch and safely identify your target (and possibly snipe him) would be a good idea.
